Strong play:bigun: :bigun:

Like Daisuke Matsuzaka to get it done today. Looked solid in spring training and from all reports the guy's certainly got the stuff. I don't see any 1st start jitters getting to him, he's been in the spotlight since he was 17 years old.

Not to mention he's pitching against this tweak-show. Greinke may run off the mound crying if the redsox piece together a few hits or runs in the 1st inning.:scared

"Overshadowed by Matsuzaka's debut is Royals starter Zack Greinke, who missed almost all of last season due to social anxiety disorder.

Greinke showed promised during a strong rookie season in 2004 but slumped to 5-17 with a 5.80 ERA in 2005. He made only three relief appearances last season, going 1-0 with a 4.26 ERA."

off the net....

He struggled with his control during spring training, adapting to a wider strike zone and a ball that is slicker than the one used in Japan. Matsuzaka allowed seven earned runs in 21 2/3 innings this spring, walking 11.

I think Grienke is going to have a solid year. He appears to have gotten his emotional issues under control. I'll be @ the game- it is colder than ballz in KC right now. Grienke may be outmatched here, but all the pressure is on Bonzai Boy.

According to espn.com Dice K finished with 17.2 innings pitched, a 2.04 era and 19 k's in the spring. Not sure if thats wrong, but either way I wouldn't say he had a bad srping by any means.

Of course there is going to be an adjustment for him switching leagues and moving here, but most of these guys have never seen him pitch. Thats an advantage to a pitcher the first few times they face someone.
