I can handle him calling a game any day, any network, anytime!

He's the man!

Looking forward to this one!

agreed. it doesn't get any better. just hearing his voice tells me it's gonna be a good game to watch. whereas hearing musberger tells me i'm gonna be wearing out the mute button.

kudos to keith jackson

And you won't hear Mr. Jackson mention the point spread or the underdog all night.

for the life of me, i cannot figure why he is such a prominant broadcaster. nobody who knows the first thing about football (or basketball, for that matter) could possibly think he has a clue. i can only figure some idiot with abc gave him a fat contract and now they figure they better get their money's worth. maybe they just remember him from the old cbs nfl pregame show. i didn't think he was too bad on that. but he is literally the worst announcer ever.

Hey.....does anybody remember about 3 years ago when? Jackson announced he was retirng fom the booth? I think it was the Rose Bowl game and everyone made a big to-do. Even made a highlite reel of his many years in the booth. Next thing you know he was back the next year. I may be wrong but I believe he announced it a few years before that Rose Bowl. How many times is he gonna retire (or at least stay retired?) Don't get me wrong I would rather listen to Whooah Nellie, but don't know why he ever made those announcements.

Keith was offered a gob to come out of retirement to do west coast games only. . . so he could stay close to home. . . and I don't blame him. He is the best.

I agree with the comments about Mushberger too. He does suck.

Jackson is way past his prime - sort of like Willie Mays when he finished out his career. jackson makes several mistakes throughout every game. Just listen to what he says. His voice does sound good though, and just hearing it makes you think of all the big college games he's done. He reminds me of Vin Scully. Anyone who has heard him for years realizes how far he has slipped. Still good to hear though.
