I'm looking to buy a digital camera as a gift. I don't have a specific brand i'm looking at but just have a few things i'm looking for. At least a 2.5 inch lcd screen and i would like to be able to have a viewfinder just because i don't always take the greatest picture looking at the lcd screen to shoot it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Looked on best buy's website and didn't see anything great. I'm looking to spend in the $200-$300 price range if that helps. thanks!

I received a Canon PowerShot A630 for Christmas and love it! I had one of the first Olympia digitals which was a good camera but so obsolete! For the money the A630 has all the bells and whistles I need, including the ability for small videos.

one thing I like is the ones that come with the rechargeable battery as opposed to ones that take like AAA or something. Sure you can always buy more AAA or get rechargeable AAA batteries, but I think the actual ones such as in the NIKON's are a better options.

Cannon does make good camera's also. I would also look at getting one that takes SD memory rather than the Compact Flash, or Xcd memory. There are a lot more options in SD memory which means better prices.
