Did some joker from Head Office call up the refs and ask them call penalties being a Sat. with 14 games around the League ..

Jeez .. . even the Rangers scored 2 goals .. .

ridiculous number of penalties on a weekend day which has 14 games .. hmm ..

Atlanta was on the Power Play for 28 minutes out of 60 . .

28 penalties in the Philly / Phoenix Game 9 Goals
19 penalties in the Avs/Oilers game 9 Goals
32 penalties in the Chicago/Atlanta game 9 Goals
27 penalties in the Boston/LA game 7 Goals

Total goals scored in these 4 games = 34

Hope this trend does not continue.

Just checking in the forum before I head out. Funny you started this thread......

I was channel-flipping thru all the 58 games that were on last nite,and during the intermission of one of the games, the announced mentioned that earlier Saturday the referees and linesmen were given memos on being more liberal on calling penalties. Wish I had heard that earlier in the day. But it figures, the only Over I played last nite (Car/NYR) had 4 goals mid-way thru 2nd, and ended 2-2 tie:thefinger :moon:.

I'd be careful playing Unders for the next few days, that's for sure. Remember how the 1st 1/3 of the season started?? There were so many overs that we were consistently seeing 6's on totals.

definitely have to pick my spots but then thats what I have been doing otherwise also. Not making plays across teh board.

damn jokers. Why cant Spock make money peacefully.
