y not just call direct tv and tell them to send u a replacement :shrug:

We have had two go out. At first they wanted us to pay shipping, but we "convinced" them it they should pay shipping as well and they did. They sent a delf addredded box that we just had to drop off at PO when they dilivered the new reciever/dvr. Someone is pulling your leg that you have to upgrade. If you have been with them for 12+ years they should be going out of their way to comp you a new reciever and some!
that was my next move to tell them to just shut it off ..... going with that in morning , maybe get some extra free stuff![]()
Do not, I repeat, do not waste your time talking to a customer service rep. if they refuse to send a reciver and pick up the charge. If they want to play hardball(which I doubt given your loyalty) just ask to speak with the disconnection department. When they ask why you are leaving them explain your needs and they will make it happen. If I were you and they really wanted to be this big of douches about things, they would comping me other things as well or dish would be on the way to my house the next day. Good luck
What a freaking rip off. I don't know why you would even stay with them. They should be providing you a free box without a question.
