Thankfully Beltran is there......the rest of the lineup is pure toilet...none of them can hit a good pitcher

too bad we lose him this year.....gotta pay bagwell his 17 million...that guy is a joke....and giving him a contract like they gave him is a bigger joke

i say void his contract unless he gets his act together and sign beltran.....

bunch of sorry ass chokers with a fool for a manager.....though Petitte and Clemens could bring a little fire to this bunch but no way......Oswalt and Miller have steadily regressed....Berkman and Hildalgo along with D Ward looked to be future of the astros but absolutely no development has been/was made.......yeah berkman has the numbers but he is becoming just like Chokewell....

then there is Jeff Kent.....this guy just stands there when a good pitcher is throwing and watches balls go across

and Morgan Ensberg? yet to hit a HR after hitting one almost every 12 AB's last year? who is in his head???

Brad Ausmus.....never seen a guy hit into so many DP's.....you get the bases loaded with one out and this guy up, you might as well just send the pitcher out with his glove in the batters box
best infielder hitter right now is Jose Vizcaino....what does that say?

Freeze, Freeze, Freeze... It's amazing how much I loathe you in the GD forum and yet always seem to enjoy your posts in the handicapping forums.

With the talent that this lineup *supposedly* has, they should be all hitting about .330 in that Cracker Jack box of a stadium they have. It's amazing to watch how Bags and Berkman have just decided to go through the motions.

I agree about Williams. He has to be held accountable for this. There is just no real logical explanation for how these guys just consistently go in the shitter after having great years (i.e. Hidalgo, Ensberg, etc.).

It's a shame b/c not every front office tries to win, and Houston does. Signing first Kent, then Andy and Roger and trading for Beltran... they seem to honestly, truly want to win. Yet nothing comes of it, despite a 1-4 rotation that should be among the top three, if not the very best, in the majors. And to make matters worse, my boys up here in the Metroplex are sitting in first place right now with no pitching and no real name hitters besides Alfonze despite having a complete jagoff running the show in Hicks. Just doesn't seem right. I honestly thought the Astros had a great shot at winning the whole damn thing, but right now that seems to be a pipe dream.
