This is my favorite weekend of the year. 4 games featuring the best teams in the NFL, well arguably. I still can't believe the Colts lost, and even more unbelievable is that a big reason they lost was because of San Diego's punter. One more thing about that game, why in the hell did Dungy not run the QB sneak on third and a foot in the first half when the Colts were at SD's 35 yard line? The officials always give the QB the a good spot on a sneak. I think it is the dumbest coaching move possible when they call a running play that starts several yards deep in the backfield as opposed to running a QB sneak on a third and very short or 4th and very short play. If Dungy calls the sneak then Colts would've likely scored at least three if not seven that drive. TERRIBLE. As for this weekend, it looks pretty straightforward to me.
Game 1-Ravens +3. If you want the +3 then you better bet the Ravens now. I predict the game will be a pick em by Saturday. Ravens defense is playing on an extremely high level and I don't think Tenn can score many points on them. Collins has such a slow delivery that he will likely get sacked and fumble at least once if not multiple times. Reed and Co. will also be able to make a better break on interceptions because of his slow delivery. It has been a good year for Tenn, unfortunately they are running into a team with a red hot defense and a lot of momentum. I already placed my bet with the +3 as I think it is asking a lot for Tenn to cover this number.
Game 2-Panthers lay the points. I am hoping that this number goes down a little bit by kick-off but it may stay around -10. Either way, I don't think it matters. This Arizona offense will not be the same without Boldin 100%. Breaston is good, but he is no Boldin. Carolina can dominate teams like Arizona at home with their running game, and Warner is a turnover waiting to happen. I think Arizona will also have a huge letdown after their great playoff win last week. For Carolina, this is just the first step in what could become a Superbowl Championship run. Look for the game to be fairly close in the third quarter before Carolina pulls away with its dominate rushing attack and wins by 14-17 points in what will be the worst game of the weekend. Not sure why it got the Saturday primetime spot???
Game 3- Giants lay the points- I am on the Giants. A lot of people will take Eagles on division rival angle, or hot team angle, but I don't think the Eagles can beat the Giants twice in a row at home. Giants will learn from mistakes and make big adjustments, while Eagles will keep same plan as last game. Also, the last few weeks have shown us that Jacobs is the key to the offense, and now that he is healthy I look for the Giants and there excellent offensive line to hold the advantage. I think Giants have better pass rush as well and McNabb is prone to turnovers in big games. Always has been. Think Super Bowl, Think NFC Championship games, etc. I will wait until kickoff and probably buy it down to -3 if I have to.
Game 4- I like SD and will buy it to +7. SD has the best punter in the NFL or one of the best. You can laugh at that comment, but it will be huge in this game which is sure to be a defensive battle. Pitt has a awesome defense and can beat anybody, but lets face it, Big Ben and the Pitt offense is stale. Ben also makes critical mistakes from time to time. SD is a big time sleeper team even without LT. You can't run on Pitt anyway, but SD has one of the best when it comes to passing in Rivers. He can let it fly. I really like SD getting all these points and think they can win outright if the ball bounces their way.
