People seem to forgot how completely terrible Peyton was this year....he was atrocious...possibly one of the ugliest stretches we've seen at the qb position....and now after another injury, he's played a half of football and we want to crown him. If you want to crown em, then crown em. But he is who we thought he was, and we let em' off the hook.........who we thought he was - at this point in career, is a old man with major health issues combined with a history of constantly choking or not playing well I'm big playoff games.
Colts last year, Baltimore another, patriots like 5 times, mark "but fumble" sanchez, etc....he has lost some bad playoff games
I'm probably the biggest manning advocate when it comes to the best overall Qb's when considering strictly talent and brains over a players total body of work...Noone could manipulate defenses like him. He would disguise plays and schemes so often that I'm sure even his coaches were lost at times. He was amazing and I consider him at least top 5 ever when you look at the best to ever do it, especially in the regular season ...buuttttt...this isn't that same guy...Denver will be forced to abandon the run game at home, as I see them facing a loaded box every snap....and without balance on offense we have seen Peyton struggle before this year
No AB sucks, but ben, martavis, dhb, wheaton, heath, and even the rbs touissant and todman should get involved early and often in the passing game...Ben can spread em out as good as anyone....I think ben will look for short to intermediate routes more then normal to help avoid sacks and further damage to his shoulder....todman/touissant will be heavily involved in running the rock as well to help with the pressure of moving the chains. These 2 things should open up play action and double moves on the outside....
I just see ben pulling something off behind a above average line who I feel is under rated. Any line would give up sacks when you have a qb who holds the ball as often and long as ben, but these guys have learned how to minimize the penalties and breakdowns.
I'll take my chances with a team that is hungry to prove that losing 1 Wr doesn't cost them the game
