now, against a pitcher he's seen for years and hit well.....he benches fukudome.
this should have been his ONLY start of the series.
as for pitching.....cant argue much with what he's done although lilly has been his best pitcher of the past 3 months and he's slated for game 4...which might never happen (i would have started him in game 3)
Pinella couldn't muster up the balls to start Fontenot... or Johnson for that matter. Felt like he had to give the ice-cold money makers a shot, when he should have went with the hot overachievers.
Too many things went wrong in this series for them to have even had a chance, but at least that might have helped the bats a little

Lou should have pulled Dempster after his 1st walk after the inning in which he loaded the bases (and got out of it). He didn't even have anyone up and throwing. IMO, it wasn't just the walks, but he started laboring big time on the mound in between pitches and taking for ever. LAD knew they had him on the ropes. For some reason, nobody in the Chicago media has said that Dempster had a mental collapse. That decision was the series.
