Do you think Percival drilled Soriano on purpose?

First pitch, nails him. By the look of that, it HURT! Gave everyone something too look at and think about. Just my opinion. Not worth much, take it for what it's worth.

Not a chance in hell. With all due respect, that is a ridiculous notion.

NO WAY! To load the bases and face Mr Yankee, Jeter?

Percy was all over the place, and was lucky to get the strike 3 call on Jeter.

Fonz needs to get that x-rayed after the game, 96mph fastball right on the ridge of the scapula.........OUCH!

My take on it is that Troy was most likely pissed from the night before, not getting the call.
He was obviously pissed off again in the bullpen in the 8th again when he wasn't called upon.
Finally, when it was almost to late, they bring him in.
Think about it - he wanted to be in the 1st game to get the save. That's his JOB. So he finally gets to come in and he's freaken PUMPED UP, that's all. Tons of adrenilin, wanting to make a statement.:firing:

no. percival knows soriano is sitting first pitch fastball as all batters usually do. soriano's locked in, ready to "jump out" over the plate(percival even said that in an interview) and get extended like batters do nowadays.. percival will have none of that, it's his plate, he owns it and pitches with that mindset .has to work the entire plate and set up sliders in the dirt or off the corner for later in the AB.. doubt he wanted to run it that far in and load the bases right there to face jeter but better to miss 5 inches inside and plunk him than five inches the other way and possibly leave one right down the shitter....
