I watched Ishii pitch last time out for Los Angeles and I really think he is in a bad position today. As a -150 fave against lowly Baltimore facing Johnson (who is on an 80 pitch limit today) I see a lot of people in the consensus backing him. I can't speak to what Johnson is likely to do today, but Ishii is definitely laboring. He had a high walk total and was constantly in trouble. Pitching with runners on base and getting out of trouble has become somewhat of a trademark of his this season, but generally the pitcher eventually gets rocked. Baltimore has a totally rested bullpen (except Julio, who only went 1/3 of an inning yesterday) and a lineup that was outperforming the Yankees in New York. I know it is tempting to play against a guy with an 80 pitch limit on a mediocre team but this seems like a prime spot for Ishii to get hit.

Would have to agree....ishii has been a great at giving up lots of hits/walks, but few runs...hes at 2.90 era this yr.[but he has high whip]...im sure the designated hitter [no pitcher, easy out] will cause him problems wiggling out of jams tonite if he continues his current form.
so, yes balt. and over could be a couple nice plays..
great observations nick and ie..
gluck, burgh.
