I think so.

I'd be interested to see the BCS computer rankings right now - with the results of the bowl games that have been played so far included. I think SoCal would have to have gotten a boost from the results.

I feel sorry for LSU. Who cares if they beat OU. Yes they win BCS Championship but it will not be nearly as impressive as USC beating Michigan. Too bad the 2 hottest teams in the country are not playing tom.

KSU the big 12 champs were dominated by Ohio St who was beaten badly by Michigan who were the Big 10 Champs, they were dominated by USC.

if OU beats LSU, who cares, if LSU beats OU, who cares. The "BCS Championship game" sure doesn't sound like a great championship game. The Rose Bowl hosted 2 of the 3 hottest teams in the country.

I saw Oklahoma not able to rush at all on KSU's defense and Ohio State ran through them all night................confirms my belief all along............OKLAHOMA WAS OVER-RATED TO BEGIN WITH AND LSU IS GOING TO PUT A HURTIN ON THEM COME SUNDAY.

on the NC?...???...But IMHO the SOONERS will show the nation

It may not necessarily diminish Oklahoma's accomplishments this year, BUT the loser in the Sugar Bowl MIGHT tumble to #4 in the year-end polls. Ohio St. could finish #3 as a result of their impressive victory.

note: The BCS rankings are "final" and will not be recalculated, as a result, they are inconsequential right now. The AP and Coaches' Polls will be the final determinants of how the teams finish following bowl season.

Ohio State was able to run the ball yesterday because Ross had six weeks to get healthy. With so much time off between the end of the regular season and the bigger bowls I feel the better coaches have the big edge. Those who can motivate their team plus come up with the better game plan have a huge advantage. This is why I beleive Ohio State has done so well With Tressel at the helm. It sure is a big improvement from Cooper who had no clue. I would love to see some sort of playoff and not such a big break between games. Imagine if what the BB tourny would be like if the teams waited until April to start it.

so by this brilliant logic, can we say that since k state beat cal, and that cal beat usc, that usc doesn't even belong in the rose.

with that being said, i thought usc looked close to perfect. i just hate the above being passed off as a reasonable argument for a big win or loss

Just a question - you are SOOO pro USC (and I admit that I like them, but...)

USC lost to Cal - the 37th ranked team in the BCS...

Oklahoma lost to K State, the 12th ranked team in the BCS...

LSU lost to Florida (I think), the 14th ranked team in the BCS...

All teams have one loss. USC had by far the worst loss of the 3 teams at the top. Why do you feel that USC is the best? They certainly did not play the strongest schedule.

The national championship is based on the WHOLE season, not necessarily who is playing the best at the end of the year.

That is why the polls (AP, etc) is not the best way to view a team's COMPLETE season - it is too heavily influenced by the last 2-3 games of each team's season. If USC had lost to Cal in the last week, instead of early in the season, they would have been ranked 5 or 6 in my opinion. It shouldn't matter WHEN you lose the game, but WHO you lose to.

I think the BCS has it right this year - based on the whole season. The computer does not rely ONLY on recent memory - as the AP and Coaches/USA poll does... it looks at the whole season.

And USC had a bad loss this year - much worse than the 2 teams that are vying for the national championship. USC should be 3rd - they had no business losing to a bad team like Cal.

Just my 2 cents.

Let us also not forget that this same Kansas State team whipped USC's ass in 2001 and 2002, and those were DOWN years for the Wildcats.

Scott4USC,

You are WITHOUT A DOUBT the most unreasonable HOMER I've ever seen post on these boards.

Mags: Be prepared for a response from Scott that will be one sided & pro USC & look for those facts that you pointed out to be considered not that important since it doesn't help USC's case.

re: The kidwhocould

I agree with what you are saying...but the funny thing is , that's exactly The BCS' logic. Their stupid Notre Dame couldn't beat Syracuse so Oklahoma goes to the Sugar Bowl logic.
