JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS +3 - This is not the best of spots for Miami, turning up as a non-division road favorite vs. an in-state rival off of a 3-game winning streak. What makes this game even more precarious for the Dolphins is that they have a big divisional showdown with New England up next. It does not help that they have some injuries on the offensive line, as they were unable to give Rickey Williams any running room last week vs. the Giants. Also, remember that the Fish is just 1-4 STRAIGHT UP on the last 5 occasions that they have been installed as road chalk! The Jaguars are feeling good about themselves after winning their first game of the season last week. They have actually defended the run very well this season, allowing only 83.4 rushing yards per game on a measly 3.0 yards per carry. I like them to contain Williams just like the Giants did and force Fiedler to go to the air. That makes the Dolphins a very risky play giving points, as both Brunell (89.7) and Leftwich (95.8) have higher pass ratings than Fiedler (87.0). It also helps to have Jimmy Smith back, which makes things easier on whoever the QB is. Finally, NFL road favorites coming off of a S/U winning streak of 3 or more are just 134-182, 42.4% ATS since 1985!
