Lived in ATL and am a supporter of vol fb, but an SC fan first. Could not believe all the bitching and moaning by vol fans. The primary issue was fat phil stopped, working and Lane, as crazy as his stupid antics and plan were, put UT back on the map. There was excitement around the program not seen in a while and they also were competitive against Nama and the gators. How did they do the years prior to his arrival????

I am waiting for all thee lane stole recruits next. In all honesty, we will never know. But if he did get them to not commit to the vols, who cares??? Why would you want a kid that did not want to be part of the Vol family?

Whats up with him rescinding offers/suggesting players find other schools when they have been commited for a year or more:shrug: I have read 2 different stories in the AJC the past few weeks about two Atlanta area players with the same experience. That can not be good for recruiting long term, especially in an area they MUST recruit well in EVERY year in order to be successful. Is this even a story outside ATL:shrug:

He is a tool and the inmates are running the asylum right now.

The way he handled this Arnett situation last week was the final straw.

Guess lane was not so bad

No, the hiring of Lane was the start of the downfall. That is what happens when you have a bean counting nerd as an AD. He gets a semi when Lane tells him that his 90 year old dad would come.

The wrong hire was made in the first place, but I have to admit, that Dooley has made me some cash.:mj07:

AGAIN - this is all speculation from a couple of people that I know, so I am just saying don't be surprised. Just throwing it out there.

Oh, it is an issue for sure, but there are so many more, I don't know what # that is on the list.

Everything gets talked about, but Dooley doesn't answer. His loud mouth stupid mother does most of the talking.

He is like the 16 year old who graduates from MIT who thinks they are smarter than everyone else. The problem is that he doesn't know how to function in society.

I have also thrown out the Joaquin Phoenix analogy from "Gladiator", but I don't think he wants to bang his sister. :mj07:

He loves the praise and hides from the pressure.

Funny you say this. Talking to one of my co-workers today, he was talking about a camp he went to years ago in Athens and having Derek Dooley for a chaperone/instructor. He was talking about some things they did during camp that they shouldnt and how Dooley would say they they cant touch him because of his dad:facepalm: Obvious hearsay, but fits the M.O. you describe.

Not true.
