I am so fuhking tired of hearing this song and dance every year by these assholes!
My ol Packers are singing this song, and I am sure the Dolphins, and every other team expected to win this weekend are singing it, too.
"Hey, man......it's one game. We still have 15 to play!"
BULLSHIT!
How many times do we see these same teams playing a "do or die" game in week 16? Or missing home field advantage by a tie breaker? When will these dipshits realize that every single game should be played at a fever pitch?
The same thing happens in baseball, too. Earlier in the year, all of these teams are saying, "Hey, it's a long season, man. Losing this series is no big deal."
Come this time of the year though, they are scratching for every win, and fighting for a playoff spot! Maybe those games don't seem to mean shit in April, May, and June, but right about now, don't you think a few teams would really like to have an extra half a dozen "pissed away" games back? And these guys play 160+ games!
Football, on the other hand, is a 16 game season, meaning every pissed away game is 10 times as costly! How on Earth can any player say, "It's no big deal"?
You mark my words on this:
The Green Bay Packers will look at September 7th's 30-25 loss to Minnesota with a much heavier heart in early January, when they are required to play their playoff games on the road. (Unless they look to that game as the reason they missed the playoffs.)
There is no such thing as a "non-costly" loss in this league.
