On the course!
I am so fuhking tired of hearing this song and dance every year by these assholes!

My ol Packers are singing this song, and I am sure the Dolphins, and every other team expected to win this weekend are singing it, too.

"Hey, man......it's one game. We still have 15 to play!"

BULLSHIT!

How many times do we see these same teams playing a "do or die" game in week 16? Or missing home field advantage by a tie breaker? When will these dipshits realize that every single game should be played at a fever pitch?

The same thing happens in baseball, too. Earlier in the year, all of these teams are saying, "Hey, it's a long season, man. Losing this series is no big deal."

Come this time of the year though, they are scratching for every win, and fighting for a playoff spot! Maybe those games don't seem to mean shit in April, May, and June, but right about now, don't you think a few teams would really like to have an extra half a dozen "pissed away" games back? And these guys play 160+ games!

Football, on the other hand, is a 16 game season, meaning every pissed away game is 10 times as costly! How on Earth can any player say, "It's no big deal"?

You mark my words on this:

The Green Bay Packers will look at September 7th's 30-25 loss to Minnesota with a much heavier heart in early January, when they are required to play their playoff games on the road. (Unless they look to that game as the reason they missed the playoffs.)

There is no such thing as a "non-costly" loss in this league.

I'm no huge Pack follower, and certainly not a Packer expert but a good friend of mine follows them a lot, reads the Packer report, etc. In his opinion, and I tend to agree, the hunger to win seems to be missing in Green Bay. Whether it's the anticipation of the retiring of Favre, lack of focus on D, knowing they don't have the team to beat the Bucs or Eagles, coaching staff being too easy going, whatever! It's almost they have to dig a hole to become interested.

Anyway, I thought I'd check with another Pack fan to see if they (you) feel the same way. Because ever since my friend and I talked about this, I can sense it and have stayed away from betting the Pack, and have to find a reason not to play against them!

This way of thinking might add to the reason why Packer personnel come with the stupid a$$ comments like it's "only one game"...

Brett looks real tired.......take that for whatever you will.

I think he knows his team is shit this season.

not only that YYZ...but this was a game vs a division rival...which makes the outcome even more important...in addition to that ...they NEVER play well at MINNY...so they may be looking at a sweep ...which is something that very well could come back to haunt them in the end...

could say only week one...but look what happened to BUFFALO last year...they lose week one at home to jets ...because of two costly kick returns ....and guess what they miss the palyoffs by a gem...and jets win the division...

every game in the NFL is extremely important...with only a 16 game schedule..
