My neighbor served. I called his house Tues night, left a message with his wife, and emailed him. I'll post what he sends me. We keep strange schedules so I don't see him much.

i heard the lady who runs operation ac talk on the radio a while back. they started bysending ACs to the troops and now are sending boots and other equiptment. you can also adopt a soldier and send care packages and write to them and such. on the radio she was holding back tears because she had so many soldiers signed up to be adopted and not enough people adopting. i have not done anything with this site yet but encourage everyone to take a look.

He emailed me back tonight. This was his email. His wife told me before that it's a good idea to have an actual soldier to send to. I think that's what he is saying here. I'll get back with more later. He's serious about the suggested items to send.

Hey neighbor. I appreciate the offer. I'll need to contact my unit
to obtain needed information. You'll need a real soldier, with all
the particulars. The military is not accepting anything send to: US
Soldier. Give me some time. Ideas would include; The Dummies Guide
to Astronomy and gatorade powder for starters.
