Took the wife and my 2 boys tonight. Very funny! Will Smith is great, Jack Black is great, De Niro is great, Scorcesse is great.....shall I go on?

"You had me at Hello" makes a cameo. Very funny.

Take a date, take the kids, go solo. You will enjoy it!

your the first person who says they have liked it. reviews here only gave it about 2 stars. anything with will smith just kind of turns me off i guess. glad you had fun though

I'm not a Will Smith fan either. My 12 yr old seen the movie but wasn't too impressed with it.
Maybe he thought along the lines of Shrek or Nemo & was dissappointed.

Went last night as well, I do not mind Will Smith and I thought the premise sounded good for the movie...

But the wife hated it (she warned me that she thought it would be bad) my son lost interest after a 15 minutes, granted he is young at a little over 2 years, but he can recite lions of Monster's Inc, and Nemo. Seriously he recites them with the movie!!

But unfortunately it was not a compelling story line, even with the large names.

Wow, did I just read to much into this movie....

How about this...

OK music, great vibrant colors, mediocre storyline... lost attention several times.

Went with the GF last night, and was very disapponted.
Maybe the worst (new generation) animated movies I've seen.

Laughed 3 times in the whole thing!....The 'you had me at hello' quote was good!...Crazy Jo's favourite show was Benny Hill which cracked me right up....and the 'meeting' scene where Lenny is a dolphin (esp. the bit where he takes the rubber band off his 'bottle nose'!! ).

But over-all, I thought it was pretty ordinary.

Hell, the Ang Jolie fish wasn't even 'sexy'!

Oh, and what's up with having an Australian news-reader (Tracey Grimshaw) as the news-reader? Seemed a strange choise to me....Man, our accent sounds tacky on US movies!!
