Doughnut games?

I have a question. Do hockey teams have doughnut games like you see in football?

I ask because Tor just played Montreal last time out and after they play LA tonight, they have a home/home with Buffalo coming up.

Thinking like a football situation - Tor just played a divisional game, now an out of conference game followed by a divisional game.

Am I out of my mind thinking like this? Al answers appreciated.

wouldnt say your out of your mind, but i really think in hockey as soon as the puck drops its different. They might get up a little more for a hated rival, but cant see a total let down for anyone.
