Whats the obsession with these kids shooting a three to win the game when it seems to me the better %%% is to drive and at least try to get some contact called and get a better shot.......

Game after game I see three pointers attempted when they should be driving first and then kicking out to open man.........it worked out for LSU but not Alabama........

I think these guys want to be heros on ESPN hitting the game winning shot rather than going into OT for 5 minutes.........

I do agree, to an extent. Overall, you want to get best shot. One thing that I don't agree with is shooting off the dribble, b/c it usually means having to shoot over someone with a hand in face and possibly blocked.
One problem with getting fouled is that refs don't like to call them in that situation so there is more contact and less called. Its like going up against Duke's D in that situation. Also, it means you might have to put a kid on the line with all that pressure and he's got to hit both of them just to tie.

I do think they should drive and either shoot or kick, and not play for a one-on-one 3-ptr. But, with the drive and kick, if its a "3" its not that big a deal, b/c 3-pt line is and has been way too close for years. Its basically a mid-range jumper that can win the game. Most PF's and C's have a 20% of hitting one if open.

But I do see exactly what your saying. Its like teams are just settling for a lower percentage shot to win it right there rather than find the best shot available.
