Would 4 Days downtown be too much? Never stayed there. I imagine it's kinda like Reno but better.

Stayed on strip many times, should I stick there?

I would suggest you check out some of the off-strip properties rather than staying downtown.

If you choose the Rio, Gold Coast or Palms, it is easy to get to the strip and you can rotate between those three casinos by walking.

Orleans is somewhat isolated but, you can get to the strip via their free shuttle.

You can check out Southpoint which offers plenty of food and entertainment options but, you will need a car to go anywhere else. The M is a little farther out and used to be a good option but, now...not so much.

I and I'm sure others can provide more details if you like. As you can tell, I am not a fan of staying downton. Have a good tme.

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Guess it would kind of depend

on your agenda and transportation.

The Downtown "Plaza" did a total remodel and was voted "Best Downtown Hotel" they are doing plenty to attract business...might give them consideration.

Over the years I've grown tired of the Strip . For now we usually stay downtown at the Nugget great rates plus my wife likes the Shark Tank pool. We always have a car available for her shopping & my general wandering around. Also Dead mentioned the remodeled Plaza might look into it the next trip. I guess if I was younger I would lean to the Strip.

I stayed downtown a few weeks ago for the first time. Loved it. Split the trip between Main Street Station and El Cortez. Had one of the junior cabana suites at El Cortez for $45. Excellent room (a bit small and only one bed so more ideal for a solo stay or for a couple). I'll defintely stay there again. Also have nothing but good things to say about Main Street Station, as well.

I've stayed downtown and it was fine. The gambling is better downtown as you can get cheap tables and better odds. Everything is close together too so you can walk everywhere.

very easy to tire of the strip, plenty of off strip casinos and sportsbook for good odds and action. However, if you have NEVER been to the strip, then i say you should stay on the strip at least once, :0074

Thanks for feedback everyone.
I've stayed on the strip probably about 10 times. Never stayed downtown. And I am pretty tempted.

Going to the MadJacks Super Bowl Party this year, and thinking of doing something outside my comfort zone.

For what it's worth I am flying in and do not drive, so an off-strip/off-downtown property would feel too isolating for me.

I have stayed at the 4Queens before. It was a ok place for the price. Just remember it can be really loud if you have a room facing the fremont side.
