Let's take this duck dynasty controversy, and look way outside the box.

There is no doubt that Phil has his first amendment rights to express his feelings
A & E has their right to protect their product

Hedge saying he is a libertarian just about as funny and ridiculous as me saying I could dunk over LeBron James

Take away the things that Phil Robertson said
Take away A & E suspending him,
The social activist groups are just too fucking sensitive,
If we applied the same standards to the government
That are applied to the Duck Commander, GLAAD should
Be fucking hostile!!
You don't see them going after the Muslims and the Koran
For their Hate book. Obama makes a statement by sending
Lesbians as delegates for the Winter Olympics, but he does
Nothing about the treatment of homosexuals and Christians
In Islamic countries. He Drones wedding parties to get one
Turd and the collateral damage is 20x the rate of getting
The turd

The PC and word police just need to stop
The hyper sensitivity about everything said
Is more divisive, there will be huge backlash
Towards all these special interest groups

People, all People of different races, religions, Political
Affiliations and Sexual Preferences are growing tired
Of this shit.
Conservatives hammer BO because of his policies,
They are racist. SNL hammers him, well they are funny
When was the last time SNL was funny?
Tim Wise says tea party members should be shot!
Where the fuck is the outrage?
So let me get this straight,
Phil states his beliefs based on the bible,
Then says only God will judge. He never said to
Kill, beat down or harm anyone
Little Timmy calls for murder,
Doesn't matter who he was directing his comments
Towards. He called for murder of a group of people
Take out Tea Party from his statement and insert Gay,
Muslims, or Irish....

Let this whole controversy over nothing keep you distracted,
Meanwhile Drone Strikes are still happening, Bocare is
A disaster, the NDAA was just Fast Tracked
http://www.examiner.com/article/senate-passes-ndaa-2014-via-fast-tracking-president-to-sign

I wonder how angry the PC Police are going to be when/if
A&E decide to keep Phil? A & E are total hypocrites, they
Sit up on their high horse and suspend Phil, yet are still
Showing 30+ hours of Duck Dynasty, still going to run the
9 episodes in the can? They suspended him from what?
That's like suspending Derek Jeter during the offseason

Keep sleep walking thru life, occasionally popping
Out of your hole to be outraged about something an old
Man in the swamp said.
Then go back in your hole when bigger issues such
As the NDAA, NSA, IRS are real problems
Issues that under the direct leadership of,
Well you know who
Am I a racist for pointing out the the 1st half black
President is in charge of these over reaching agencies?
Go ahead , call me a racist, the term is hollow now
Because anyone who questions or criticizes the messiah
Is one
So with that, I am proud to be called a racist because
Of my critical thinking and skepticism

Make sure when you cut out the above statement
To add to your signature, you use the entire quote!
I don't want to do a MSNBC edit on my words

Gay Group Calls For Re-Education of Phil Robertson

Suspension of Duck Dynasty star over comments not enough

Paul Joseph Watson

For the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), suspending Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty over his comments regarding homosexuality isn?t enough ? now they are calling for Robertson to be re-educated.

Image: Phil Robertson (YouTube).

GLAAD was instrumental in forcing A&E?s hand in the decision to discriminate against Robertson for expressing his First Amendment right. GLAAD met with A&E representatives on Wednesday morning urging them to take action against Robertson and by the evening the Duck Dynasty star had been suspended.

While admitting that they have received an unprecedented backlash over their role in Robertson being suspended, GLADD are by no means finished. They are now calling for Robertson to be re-educated on gay issues by making him meet with homosexual families in some kind of bizarre Alcoholics Anonymous-style treatment.

?We believe the next step is to use this as an opportunity for Phil to sit down with gay families in Louisiana and learn about their lives and the values they share,? GLAAD?s vice president of communications Rich Ferraro told The Wrap.

It?s not enough for Robertson to be suspended for daring to criticize homosexuality, gay activists want him to recant in order to send a message that having a view that differs from the PC doctrine will result in re-education.

The group is also targeting companies who use Robertson as a spokesman, intimidating them into severing ties with the Duck Dynasty star.

Whether you agree or disagree with Phil Robertson?s comments is irrelevant. If we are to accept, as leftists are arguing, that controversial comments should not be allowed in the public domain, then the Bible and the Qur?an should be removed from tens of millions of churches worldwide since they both condemn homosexuality.

Openly gay feminist Camille Paglia nailed it when she stated, ?In a democratic country, people have the right to be homophobic as well as they have the right to support homosexuality ? as I one hundred percent do. If people are basing their views against gays on the Bible, again they have a right of religious freedom there.?

A&E had a right to suspend Robertson because they are a private company and can operate as they like in a free market. However, imagine the backlash that would have ensued if a major corporation had suspended a television personality over pro-gay comments. It?s not going to happen because political correctness only protects the free speech rights of certain groups of people while discriminating against others.

The First Amendment guarantees the right to free speech for all. In a truly free society, controversial opinions should be freely exchanged and debated, even if they cause offense, without the threat of reprisals.

Duck Dynasty and the 1st Amendment: Why everyone is wrong.

Duck Dynasty and the 1st Amendment: Why everyone is wrong.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

If you read that carefully you should notice two things. First: The framers of the constitution clearly laid the ground work for the holiday of Festivus. Read the last part of the last sentence. It?s obvious to me they were giving a wink and a nod to the ?Airing of Grievances?, the third pillar of Festivus after putting up the Festivus Pole, and the Feats of Strength.

Second and more important by a little bit; freedom of speech can only be inhibited by the government. In other words you only have the right to be protected from the government for the things you say. You have no right to keep your job if you say things your employer does not like, or in the case of Robertson, violate your contract as a reality actor in a reality series. You still have the right to say them, but your employer has the right to terminate you for it. You see, your employer has the right to free speech and expression just as much as the individual. If they believe what you say or do, at work or not, hurts their brand or their bottom line, they are absolutely within their rights to terminate you for it. A&E is a private, free market, capitalist business. This is how it works.

Now does that mean A&E had the right to suspend Robertson for what he said and believes about homosexuality, and a host of other sins? Yes, they absolutely do have that right.

But being right and doing right are completely different things.

My podcast partner Tony Hupp already scribed a good piece on Robertson being suspended for his beliefs and the wrongness of that. Read it here: Duck Dynasty. I agree with Tony on this. I?m not a fan of slippery slope arguments but this feels like a bad one to me. Do we really want free people to be afraid to express their opinion or their faith, no matter how blunt and in-artful Robertson did?

So was A&E right to suspend Robertson for what he believes? I don?t think so.

But look at the result. Because they suspended him, their ratings are skyrocketing, and that?s from ratings that were obnoxiously high to begin with. A&E plans a Duck Dynasty marathon this weekend, all episodes have Robertson in it. All new episodes already taped will air next year. Robertson is in those as well.

Free market capitalism my friends, embrace the whore-ness.

You want to worry about free speech as it pertains to the 1st amendment, read stuff that really matters.

http://verdict.justia.com/2013/09/0...ti-discrimination-law-to-wedding-photographer

Those links are three issues occurring in our country that will get no publicity. Why? Because everyone is crying ?free speech? over a guy on TV who thinks homosexuality is a sin and likens it to bestiality but gets rich making duck calls that essentially allows hunters to trick ducks into having sex with them so the hunters can shoot them. (got that last part on twitter, can?t remember who specifically, but it?s some one else?s line and a great one)

Those three issues, in Washington State, Denver, and New Mexico, those are first amendment issues.

I hope you read those three stories. Here is the synopsis: Under court order those three businesses are being FORCED TO PERFORM A SERVICE AGAINST THEIR WILL THAT VIOLATES THIER RELIGIOUS BELIEFS.

You know where I got the Denver story, from Al Jazeera America. Yes that Al Jazeera, the Muslim news organization opened a branch here in America. They are following the bakery story in Denver.

I can?t turn on home shopping network without seeing a story about that bearded redneck being ?suspended? but I have to go to AL Jazeera to read about Americans being forced by a court to do something against their religious beliefs.

Don?t cry about the 1st amendment for Robertson. It absolutely does not apply.

Howl with your hair on fire over the court rulings in Washington, Denver, and New Mexico. The 1st amendment was just nullified.

It was done right under your Duck Calling noses.

Duck, dynasty

Posted by whatshupp

Is this duck gay? If it is, can I still shoot it?

I don?t watch Duck Dynasty. I watched it once or twice, and I understand why it would entertain people, but it?s not my cup of tea.

Since everyone?s offering their opinion, I?ll offer mine.

Even though I think the basic facts of this situation are different from some others, this should come as no surprise to anyone. This kind of thing has been happening for a while. The difference in this situation is that Robertson wasn?t fired just for what he said. He was fired for what he believes, and stating those beliefs in a magazine article. What he has been ?suspended? for was not anything that happened on the show. He was fired for his religious beliefs.

He didn?t utter any homosexual slurs. He didn?t call anyone any names. He stated his opinion on homosexuality. He said he didn?t understand homosexuality and that he believed it was a sin. Perhaps awkwardly, bluntly, but that?s what he did. Robertson comes from a deeply religious background. So, A&E has fired a person for what they believe. He was fired for saying he didn?t agree with the homosexual lifestyle. I have no doubt that A&E must have already known how Robertson felt about this issue. He didn?t arrive at these opinions recently.

It was a magazine article in GQ. The comments he made that got him suspended from his own show are but a small part of the context. It just seems crazy he was suspended for something he said in a magazine article. He went on to describe other things that he considered sin as well: adulterers, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers. You should read it if you haven?t. I did and came away with a different perspective. Here it is: http://www.gq.com/entertainment/television/201401/duck-dynasty-phil-robertson

People will say A&E has the right to do what they want. Sure. Wait until you get fired for something you say. Not something you say at work.

These actions come from the people that are really open-minded. As long as you agree with them.

This isn?t just about free speech. This is about trying to tell people how they should feel about something, what they should value and what their religious beliefs should be. People should be pissed. People should have been pissed a long time ago over political correctness and social agendas run amuck. The Robertson?s should take their show somewhere else.

I mean, after all, A&E, you have so many other quality shows, shows like:

Storage wars
Storage wars: New York
Storage wars: Texas
Shipping wars
Parking wars
Bad Ink
Barter Kings
American Hogger
In the meantime, actress Jennifer Lawrence wants to outlaw the word ?fat? on TV.

Oh. Goodness.

Charlie Sheen Blasts ?Duck Dynasty?s? Phil Robertson for ?Unforgivable? Comments

Charlie Sheen is giving voice to the voice-less in a raging Twitter rant addressing ?Duck Dynasty? star Phil Robertson, who?s in the middle of a controversy over anti-gay and racial comments made during an interview with GQ magazine.

No stranger to being in the middle of a media firestorm himself, Sheen shows no mercy for Robertson in a very angry missive posted to Twitter on Saturday.

?You have offended and hurt so many dear friends of mine, who DO NOT have the voice or the outreach that I do,? FX?s ?Anger Management? star said. ?Well, news flash shower-dodger, I will speak loudly and clearly for ALL of them.?

In speaking for those who are offended by Robertson?s statements, Sheen refers to the reality star as ?mallard brained? and ?desperately sub evolved,? among other incendiary things.

He also threatens ?a MaSheen style media beat down? as he insults Robertson?s intelligence and offers some interesting thoughts on the kind of work Robertson can get after ?Duck Dynasty.?

As fans of the A&E show already know, Robertson has other avenues in which to make a living outside of reality TV. His patented duck call is at the center of his multi-million dollar company, Duck Commander.

Currently, A&E has suspended Robertson from shooting the series indefinitely ? a move that will have very little effect on the upcoming fifth season premiering on Jan. 15. Nine out of the 10 episodes have already been shot and the production is currently on production hiatus.

Read Sheen?s entire message to Robertson below:

Lesbian Author Accuses Gay Groups of Bullying Tactics Over Phil Robertson Controversy

Backlash against PC authoritarianism continues

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
December 23, 2013

Lesbian author Tammy Bruce has accused gay rights groups of resorting to the same kind of intimidation and bullying tactics they usually oppose in the effort to punish Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson after his controversial comments.

?What?s especially troubling for minority communities in this country, the civil rights movements, especially the gay civil rights movement, was about asking for people and demanding the right for us to be able to live our lives as we see fit without being punished for being different. It?s ironic also that one of the big campaigns by the gay community is about ending bullying. If this is not a sign of the ultimate of bullying I don?t know what is,? said Bruce.

As we reported on Saturday, not content with their lobbying efforts which helped influence A&E in the decision to suspend the Duck Dynasty star, gay rights group GLAAD are now pushing for Robertson to be re-educated by demanding he meet with gay families in Louisiana, despite the fact that Robertson has refused to back down and has re-affirmed his biblical position on homosexuality.

The controversy began when Robertson told GQ Magazine, ?It seems like, to me, a vagina ? as a man ? would be more desirable than a man?s anus. That?s just me. I?m just thinking: There?s more there! She?s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I?m saying? But hey, sin: It?s not logical, my man. It?s just not logical?Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.?

Bruce?s remarks echo those made by Camille Paglia ? a professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and a self-described ?openly gay dissident feminist.?

Paglia described the actions of some in reaction to Robertson?s comments as ?utterly fascist, utterly Stalinist,? adding that gay groups were displaying intolerance, immaturity and juvenility.

?In a democratic country, people have the right to be homophobic as well as they have the right to support homosexuality ? as I one hundred percent do. If people are basing their views against gays on the Bible, again, they have a right of religious freedom there,? Paglia told radio host Laura Ingraham.

As we have highlighted, given that some leftists are calling for the kind of comments made by Robertson to be banned from the public domain, if that definition of hate speech is applied, both the Bible and the Qu?ran must also be removed from tens of millions of churches worldwide since they both contain far greater condemnation of homosexuality.

In a related development, the Sheriff?s department in the Georgia county where Duck Dynasty is filmed has announced that it will no longer offer its assistance to A&E after the network?s ?unreasonable? punishment of Robertson.
