I was laughing my ass of when I was at home depot the other day. The stores are selling out of this crap. I guess Bush will find a way to stimulate the economy one way or another! Just put fear into the people. There was some lady who was 98 years old buying plastic and duck tape.

That snipers shut down the fall baseball season, so let's not hope we lose the spring season too.... Hell, I can't think of a better way to go than standing on a baseball field! I'll take my chances.

LOL- this is just getting ridiculous. I saw the same thing at a builders square the other day. People 5 deep at the 6 or 7 registers and about 1/3 of them were loading up on tape and plastic. I mean, wtf is going on? Next thing is that we're going to be driving down the road seeing houses all done up in plastic and grey duct tape. You know, just in case.

It reminds me of the people down here who swarm the supermarkets and sell the whole city out of bottled water the same day that a hurricane is spotted off the southern tip of Africa.

matt and barfly or any other person from fl that has seen a huricane or lost a home like i did in andrew in a place called country side which myself and a metro dade officer named andy petlecost a good friend of mine and golf partner were in when it hit i have viedo and pictures we did the tape with the windows and did not do the plywood because we were inland some.

Well let me tell you all the tape did was keep the glass in bigger chunks to be shot through your body as oppesed to breaking i little chunks. we road it out in a bathroom in a tub with a mattress. all that was left was a shell and very little part of the roof which the inner bathroom was one and that was where we were at my blazer had a paalm tree through it from side to side and 60 yards from where it was parked upside down if you ever want to see live film of a hurricane and how scarry it is stop by i have it, **** the tape you would have to seal off dryer vents vents on top of roof that all houses have air return duct from ac if ac is on roof like ours and grauge or basement where hot water heater is if gas also has a return or air exit beside it incase gas leaks out. don't waste your time or money if you want something buy a full chem suit with gloves and strap on hood with 2 weeks worth of filters about 800 bucks then you have a shot much better then duct tape what the hell did these guys grow up watching tool time on home improvement? hell tim was not that stupid? water and food are major i can tell you that bleach and sterno and good first aid kit and plastic bags and a big bucket to use as toilet and tp. i have 100 gallons of water 5 gall jugs at all times in my grauge and the water company switches them out every 6 months and enough can food for a month different types. and pet food for a month. water and food you donot want to go with out radio lots of battries matches 3 zippo lighters and fluid will go along way and would store at least 500-1000 in cash in my house in a safe box at all times. i have been through hell and with out for a few days not fun . will never get caught again but **** duct tape have tire patch kit extra gas in a shed for car 2 20 gallon tanks should do tool kit extra car belts and hoses for car as well as extra car battrey charger and air pump foot because you might not have eletric or ligther plug in a like foot pump and 6 cans of fix a flat. and gun hand and 1 shot gun with over 200 rounds.

all most for got good sharp knief or 2 hatchet 2 saws 1 being hack saw and pry bar with lots of roap and a bag with 3 sets of cloths all packeted already i have all this for the jeep and a big pry bar and 3 mag lights and lateren.

jeezuz H Christ Fletch!
You planning on having them land in your backyard or something?

Man, i keep a cold six pack in my basement and thats about it.

Not sure who started this whole duct tape and plastic deal but come ON!
In dealing with chemical/biological warfare duct tape around the windows aint gonna stop a damn thing.
People can argue it all they want, but if it were to ever happen, the only difference between those with duct tape on the windows and those without is that one group of them are gonna be pretty pissed off when they die... "Damn george bush and his stupid duct tape idea........"

Geez Eric, it sounds like you're ready for anything.

I guess there is nothing wrong with being prepared, and I'm sure alot of that has to do with having lived in Florida.

But here, last night on the 11 oclock news, they had an 'expert' saying that the need for us to purchase these things is nothing new because we should be prepared for a potential hurricane to move up the coast from the Carolinas anyway. I can't think of the last hurricane to hit Washington DC!

It's more the way people have been going about communicating the information than what they are saying.

I'm with Marine... I've got atleast a weeks worth of clothes and a case of beer on ice in my car almost all the time :) Golf clubs, folding chair, umbrella, radar gun and stop watch. If I make it through the first attack, I'll drive somewhere where they're still playing ball!

If my memory is correct, go back and check the weather reports for March/April (i think) of 1999. I was in annapolis at the time and we actually shut down the school there because of the hurricane that snuck up the coast and dumped enough water to flood the city one morning.

But i hear ya dude, cold beer and a extra set of happy socks and I am set.

Yeh if the attack hits near me I am going outside on the front steps and just take in deep breaths so I will go quicker. :p

No way I am putting plactic up in a room and sitting there watching my big screen. With my luck I would probably suffocate and the chemicals wouldnt have killed me the fawking plastic would have done me in.

So dont damn your president marine. If Al-Quada thinks that we are preparing to protect the nations people, they may not attempt it. Of course they can figure out alot of other ways to kill us in masses if they give it much thought.

Meanwhile we will have our familys sitting in one room surrounded by plastic and duct tape watching CNN.

I know this is not too nice but I have to say it ....

DUCT THE FAWK UP !

We can make it our slogan as America goes forward with protecting us citizens and our society. Thank you George W and God Bless America !

ever been around lotters not a fun site the ng or army will not be at your door for 2-3 days if your lucky and in andrew cops could not get to us or fire rescue. if you have not been in something like that you would not understand a tv movie does not tell the real life hell. we had people selling a gallon of water for 15 bucks thats what humans do and thats why you have a gun and for other reasons.

Scott,
Maybe you are not aware of how chemical warfare and germ and biological warfare really works.
We are talking about MICROSCOPIC organisms. Duct tape pressed against teh window crack is NOT, and i repeat NOT going to stop these tiny things from slipping thru. It just isnt. period.

And if by some miracle it does, the second you step outside your home (even 3 weeks later) and you break that plastic seal. bye bye. you just infected yourself because it was on the plastic.

Combating germ warfare is a multi step process that takes quite a long time to learn to do properly. Unless you dedicate the next 6 months of your life to it, you are going to perish with the rest of us who saved our money instead of buying duct tape and spent it on one last cold shot of vodka instead.

I know this much marine. To kill alot of us they will have to find a way to disperse it. Planes and large trucks are being watched closley in the US. How far will that ricen stuff drift in the air ?

Get 12 people.
Infect them.
Put them on a plane to every major metro city in america.
Get off the plane and walk around the terminals for 12 hours.

Countless thousands will be done in the first day and it will spread exponentially from there.

all it takes is one.

Infect them with what ? smallpox ? at the highest risk of exposure small pox boils would be showing on the skin and the airlines would at least put them in coach by a window.

hey marine . here is one just for you.

----- Marine Corps General Reinwald was interviewed on the radio the other day by a female interviewer concerning guns and children. Regardless of how you feel about gun control this is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion of a National Public Radio (NPR) interview between the female broadcaster and US Marine Corps General Reinwald as he was preparing to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?
GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?
GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?
GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper Rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers.
GENERAL REINWALD: Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

The radio went silent and the interview ended.
You gotta love the Marines!
