NC State +4 (going with the home dog wolfpack here....if they are ever going to beat duke (duke has won 9 of last 10 SU), this is as good an opportunity as they will get.
NC State has won 5 of their last 6 SU while going 6-0 ATS in that same span.
1-24-04 (beat Ga Tech at home 76-72 in a pick'em game.)
1-28-04 (lose at North Carolina 66-68 as a 9-point dog.)
2-1-04 (beat Maryland at Maryland 81-69 as a 6-point dog.)
2-4-04 (beat Wake at home 73-68 as a 2.5 point favorite.)
2-7-04 (beat Virginia at Virginia 79-63 as a 3-point favorite.)
2-10-04 (beat Florida St. at home 75-59 as a 7-point favorite.)
Duke won the first meeting this year, 76-57 as a 15-point favorite. State couldn't take Duke's initial blast and found themselves down 17 at half. Duke shot a nice 27-53 (51%) from the field...better than their season's avg. of 47%....while going a blistering 8-14 (57%) on 3-pointers which is well above their 37% season's avg. Duke also shot 14-17 from the line.
NC State on the other hand shot right at their season's avg. of 45% from the field.....but struggled at only 4-16 (25%) from long range. NC State only shot 9 FT's as well...making 7. NC State's best player Hodge was held to 3-9 from the field and 7 points.
NC State is hot right now. If they can limit duke from long range tonight while getting more from Hodge than 7 points, I think we may have a close one on our hands where the points could come in handy. The home crowd and atmosphere should be electric tonight as well....this is the packs chance to prove they are truly an elite team in the ACC and country....a chance to knock off #1.....and their chance to exact a little revenge on a team who has beat them silly 9 of the last 10 times they've played...thisis a great set-up for the pack....if they can't do it tonight  I think they can and would bet them in this situation every time regardless of the outcome tonight. Good luck to all in whatever you play!!!
