There are tons of Eagles fans on this site and always have been. I really like the Eagles and McNAbb as I am a huge Syracuse fan. With that being said I think they still go down again on Sunday. This is a darn good Eagles team, but Atlanta has a certain swagger to them right now. The 5 points makes it a no brainer for me as I see this game being extremely close. I disagree with people that say the snow and bad weather favors the Eagles :scared. Seriously, this ATL team averages a robust 5.1 yards per carry on the ground. And the Eagles run defense is improved from last year but by no means dynamite. Poor weather conditions strongly favor the Falcons who have a very strong run defense (3.9 yard per carry). The only way I see the Eagles winning and covering is if McNabb is able to go deep to his wrs, that way it will open up the run and screen game to Westbrook. Poor weather, especially wind, will make it extremely difficult for McNabb to throw, and that favors the Falcons. McNabb is a huge weapon and he has been throwing the ball beautifully this year, the Eagles need to be able to continue to go deep. Vick on the otherhand probably won't throw the ball more than 22 times, so I don't think the wind will really hurt him as much because he will be looking to run and grind it out with Duckett and Dunn set up by good field position from Rossum (that guy is in his own world right now, WATCH OUT). The Run Defense of the Falcons will shut down the Eagles if weather conditions are bad. I will take the points and sit back and see if the Eagles can break the curse. Remember, these Eagles have a lot of pressure on them in this game. They are yet to prove anything in my opinion since the loss of TO, barely beating Dallas and then beating Minny (Who STINKS). The Rams stink too, but I still think the Falcons will be riding high into this game. A blow out was just what the doctor ordered for that teams confidence.

And before you give me any shots as a Bills fan telling you that the Eagles are cursed, just let it be known that you can lose 4 in a row. Sometimes when it rains it pours.

Nice read dizzy and valid points for taking the falcs. Must admit though, I hope you're wrong, as I'm going the other way. Both fav's getting early money scares me considering I'm on them both but I guess it was expected. 6-6.5 is possible by game time and this is definitely appealing for those on Atlanta. GL with the play mate!

Remember that Bledsoe made an appearance for I think the entire second half of the 2001 AFC championship game against the Steelers and threw a td.

Stephen A. Smith | T.O. sure Birds are going to Big One

By Stephen A. Smith, Inquirer Columnist

The city of Philadelphia visualizes its angst, contemplating a merciless ending, pondering the inevitable misery a fourth straight NFC championship game loss could bring.

Except this time, the fans stand alone in their apprehension. Their pessimism. And for the moment, their worst nightmares.

"We are going to the Super Bowl, so don't even doubt it," injured Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens said yesterday. "I've never felt so confident in my entire career than how I felt this past Sunday. We'll be in Jacksonville come Feb. 6. There is no doubt in my mind.

Its not the eagles fault they are cursed...Its the curse of William Penn. WP is the figure that is atop city hall in philly. There was gentlemens agreement that there would be no other building in the city taller than city hall. (I believe in 1984 Liberty One skyscraper became taller and now there have been other buildings to follow..) Well the last time a world championship was won in the city was 1983 (sixers). Since then not one championship won...coincidence or just bad teams...That is 84 seasons of no championships in mlb, nba, nhl & nfl. I think philly deserves a little luck...Pittsburgh has won with the penguins and steelers, ne with the redsox, pats & celtics..Root for philly this year!!

I'm sure he'll find that comforting watching his former teams in another super bowl since canning his ass. :142lmao:
