right now my eagles are the worst 3-3 team in the league. they could realistically be 0-6 right now. i have been the biggest mcnabb supporter over the years (since his 'cuse days) and have been the biggest mcnabb defender this year, when everyone else was calling for his benching. but i found myself hoping that reid would put detmer in that last offensive series with about 2 minute left. he didn't, mcnabb went 3 and out, they punted, and i thought they lost the game. westbrook's been one of the bright spots and glad he came up big, but mcnabb has me doubting him for the first time in his career. ALWAYS felt he was a gamer, but right now his head isn't in it. my biggest ?? is what has changed on offense? his o-line? he's getting the time, his backs are the same, his receivers are the same, sure they dropped 6 passes today, but i think right now it all stems from mcnabb.
defense has done it's job through all the injuries. they got bobby taylor back today and he played well, coming up big a couple of times against shockey.
i really think they are missing that "get in your face" type of guy, a team leader. the guy who pumps up everyone in the locker room and on the field. last year that was hugh douglas and brian mitchell. this year?? everyone looks to donovan. he's the franchise and he's not getting it done.
i'm figuring reid starts him next week at home against the jets and if he isn't producing, detmer will finish out the game.
