Winds will be projected to be coming in from right field at 13mph. Games at Turner Field are 9-15 o/u in winds 10-20. To me this is significant, bc both have low era's along with inward wind equals under.
Speaking of afternoon, Turner field has bad shadows in the afternoon. "That's what stinks about the postseason,? Chipper Jones told reporters. ?We don't play any four o'cL**K games here during the season. We take (batting practice) at four or five o'cL**K every day and it's not easy hitting with (coach) Fredi Gonzalez and (coach) Glenn Hubbard throwing, believe me.
I think both pitchers come into this game with their best stuff. Clemens has not disappointed down the stretch, simply carrying this team. I don't think his sickness will come into play here, mostly bc I don't think he was sick. Missing that start gives him 6 full days of rest. A rested Rocket in the shadows of Turner, with the wind blowing in.... Please!!!!
On the other side, Wright has been the most consistent pitcher for ATL, however his day stats are horrid. I don't think I'll put too much value on those stats, bc he does have Playoff exp. with Cleveland. Don't they say to throw out the stats when the post season starts? This would be a good case against that reasoning. He'll be ready tonight and should will also benefit from the wind and shadows.
I think we see a similar game as last night's Yankee game. Both pitchers are capable of getting out of an inning with a double play ball. If we get to the bullpens, I think we'll be safe with Lidge and Smoltz.
