ecu +13: hold your nose and take a pose as we are going ugly early tonight. last time out we played against the pirates coming off exam break at home against college of charleston last Thursday night. the pirates obliged by losing 53-35 in a game where they somehow managed to shoot 23% from the floor and a whopping 12.5% from the arc. but you're never as bad as your last lost or as good as your last win, and as bad as it looked, there were some positives in the loss. pirate defense held coc to 33% from the floor, marking the 8th time in 11 games that ecu has held their opponent to under 40% fg. tonight's game is a rivalry game going back to the old caa days, and coach jeff lebo surely gave his pirates some thoughts for reflection after Thursday's loss. the pirates are big inside, including 7' Washington, and their size is likely to be a bit of a problem for the seahawks, who stand 9-1 and are up to 49th in the pomeroy ratings. but ecu's size will likely cause some matchup problems for the undersized 'hawks, and the pirates should be motivated coming off their worst game of the season.

jmu 1st h + whatever: not as much difference between these two teams at the records would suggests - 5-5 Richmond has only played 3 true road games while 1-9 james Madison has only played 3 home games. this is a bit of a rivalry game also; jmu easily handled the spiders in Richmond last year. coach fox kinda called out his guys after last game in boone where they had app st beat in regulation, then eased up, allowed the mountaineers to tie it up, then faded in ot. all things point to a little more effort from the dukes tonight, and Richmond should have some matchup problems inside. meaningless(?) stat of the day tells us that jmu has led at the half in 5 of their 9 losses.

ps - just played the game at jmu +2 1st half.

ga tech +3- and +150 ml: they seem to be jumping out at me this morning, not sure if that's a good or bad thing. don't quite get this line, I make this game more like a pick 'em. Georgia may be off to a decent start, but their best win was geo wash or maybe furman? anyway, this is another rivalry game that tech has owned recently, winning 4 in a row before last year's loss in Athens. and in the last 21 years the visitor has won a total of 4 games, 2 each. I split my bet between the spread and the moneyline.

don't do this often but put in a 1st half ml parlay on ecu, jmu and gt for a half unit. pays just under 30/1.
