Ellis Family 3rd Annual Haunted House

Each Halloween I put together a Haunted House for the neighborhood.

1st year was in the garage and didn't work well, b/c walls kept getting pulled down.

last year was in backyard which worked out nicely, had a couple hundred kids come through.

This year, will be BIGGER and BETTER.

Figured I would start this thread and keep MJer's updated on progress and show pics.

Will have Leatherface, Jason, Predator, Mike Myers, Wolf man, to name a few...

I just finished the framing for the Haunted house. Will have 6 rows or turns with 'set-up' on each turn.

Used 1/2 PVC over 2 foot re-bar driven into ground.

Supported with metal fence posts and bracked to fence.

WIND is a bitch when visquine (sp) goes up..

I got a riding lawnmower, so only take a little over an hour, front and back

I absolutely hate things like these. When I was 7 or 8... I went through one... It is probably the only thing I remember when I was young... I can tell you every single thing I saw... If I go through one now I would probably kill somebody.

good 4 u. i hope it turns out well.me and my roomie did one last year. alot of little a-holes showed up. 13+ yrs old, but the little ones made it totally worth it.

did one a few years ago at a buddys house...a 'live' guy in coffin, black lights glow in the dark hands...and a circular saw (no blade), by the front door on the way out....:mj07: ..one momma ran over her kids :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Getting it going now.

rained all day and night, so go to work on the house this evening.

having a PARTY :toast: :toast: for my reps and friends tomorrow night...

will put up some pics with sunlight and will shoot some dark.

COWBOY :

This 'scene' is pretty cool. Dead cowboy with 'strung up' body, buzzards, rat around.

cowboys eyes turn on red at night.

LEATHERFACE:

ONE of the scariest scenes at night. He is in process of 'cutting meat'. I plug in computer speakers under table and have chainsaw and screaming playing.

Will have the walls up with blood everywhere and will have fog maching under table. It is right at a turn from one lane to next so he catches you off-guard...:scared :scared

I like the wrapped up 'parts' ready to serve..

SCARECROW;

Pretty cool, Dead scarecrow hung up with small scarecrow and dead face with barb wire everywhere.

I TRY to bring out every detail in each 'scene' to make them realistic.....ENJOY!!

Will update, gonna bring kids to a trunk and treat...

Well, had a GREAT time at party last night. Everyone enjoyed the haunted house.

I definitely need to add more lights. It was tough to see where to go. Will drop in some more strobes and need some 'red' lights in Leatherface's 'scene'.

Friday, I will walk through with cam-corder and post on youtube, once I figure it out.

You have to 'duck ' under web and when you do you meet

Continue walking and there is empty corner where someone will be dressed up Friday night and turn into

WOLFMAN LAIR:

This is my personal favorite. Every thing is HOME-MADE.....I made the fake crumbling walls and the wolfmen. At night the hanging cauldrons give off light and a fog maching shoots fog from behind the walls. Strobe lights complete the effects..
