Engine oil levels......question???

My sister let her engine oil level get down to maybe 1 court.........guy said there wasnt any oil even on the dipstick.........

Do you think this has caused any damage.......

She got a oil change and he car seems to be running fine............

she should be ok.

If the oil goes down to 0 it would smoke and blow the engine. Alot of the oil stays in the crankcase and doesnt show on the stick. Its dangerous to let it get that low though.

tell her to check the levels more and get it changed at least every 4-5 thousand.

Shouldn't be a problem now.

Problem would be how did she lose a few quarts of oil and the time frame.
