Only Fuku gets in is by fan ballot... I'm sure he's getting a lot of help from overseas...

He certainly doesn't belong in the all star game - but the AS game in every sport is a joke with the fan voting.

I'd rather see a real All Star game, rather than a Yankees-Cubs internet battle....

I see that Dustin Pedrioa is supposed to make it...

Is 2B that weak in the AL (I follow the NL) that a guy hitting .270 with 4 HR and 29 RBI, 6 SB would actually make the team?

Jeesh - there are a bunch of guys in the NL that are better 2B - Utley, Kelly Johnson, Uggla, Brandon Phillips, Jeff Kent, Orlando Hudson - I'm sure there are more - those are off the top of my head.....

Mickelson Expects Breast Reduction Surgery to Pay Off at British Open

by Mark McGuriman
SportsPickle.com submission

Golfer and US Open runner-up Phil Mickelson underwent man-breast reduction surgery last month in hopes of winning his first major championship at this week?s British Open.

Following another disappointing finish at the U.S. Open, Mickelson decided the surgery to diminish his unsightly breasts was necessary.

"Following my third round bogey at 18, my coach noticed my balance problem on the tee," Mickelson said. "He said my upper body was swaying on the follow through and he noticed a jiggling when walking from tee to ball and green to tee."

Mickelson watched tape of his rounds on the Monday following the U.S. Open and indeed noticed his chest was wobbly. He consulted with his wife and decided it was best to get the surgery.

"Hopefully, the surgery will make my swing a little more even and take some of the pressure off of my back," Mickelson said. "I need to concentrate on getting my form back in time for the British Open"

Many of Mickelson?s PGA Tour colleagues are awaiting to see how he plays at the British Open before reducing their own man boobs. Craig Stadler, John Daly and Vijay Singh are all looking into the procedure.

"I'll take a look at the after pictures of Phil and hopefully get a look at him in the clubhouse," Daly said. "If his breasts recede and he plays well, then I'm all over it!"

I know the all-star game has already passed, but i wanted to point something out, just a little fyi:
pedroia was hitting .314, 28 2B's, 47 RBI at all-star break, and in the 20 games before the break hit .455 (40-88)

Kinsler definately deserved the starting AL spot, and i think roberts may have deserved to be an all-star too

kent was hitting .250 at the break, he was an all-star 5-6 years ago, but not anymore...and johnson was hitting .269 at the break. are you kidding me

and i would take pedroia over hudson, and probably over phillips

uggla only has more power, has lower avg and may end the year with 200 K's

utley is a stud and the best 2nd baseman out there, no doubt

i would put pedroia as a the 3rd or 4th best 2nd baseman in MLB, and you don't think he would even be top 6 in the NL. this is all just my opinion, what do others think?
