I don't think I've posted this tragic story on here before LOL....

This is about my life as a Montreal Expos fan. I have always loved football and basketball and always had favorite teams. Never watched much baseball but would sort of keep up with the standings. I remember I must have been about 7 or 8 (prob around 1980) and was looking at the standings while reading the sports page. I decided that I'd just pick a team. To this day I can't tell you why in the world I chose Montreal but I did. Maybe they had Gary Carter at the time ;)
Anyway, every year I'd follow the Expos. As I got older I found out what was happening. They kept getting these great players but could never keep them. Its like they would overachieve and then during the off-season their best 2 or 3 players would be gone to other teams.
Andre Dawson, Tim Raines, Gallaraga, the list goes on and on and on. Hell, they couldn't keep the manager's son there with Moises Alou.
So, then, FINALLY....1994. They played about 120 games and my belioved overachieving Expos are the best team in baseball. Best record. If nothing else, they should at least make the playoffs.
The sons of bitches go on strike and the season is lost. And of course when they come back they become the Expos again.
Then I hear about possible contraction of the team and finally they move. I wish they would have moved to North Carolina, but they move to Washington and change their name to the Nationals. And of course, as fate would have it, they are in 1st place at the all star break.
They'll probably win the whole damn thing, unless I bet on it.

Yep, just like the Quebec Nordiques (NHL). They were basement dwellers for years, accumulating alot of 1st round picks. Then the moved to Colorado and whaddya know they win the Stanley Cup that first year IIRC.
