Appears they are no longer trying to even hide bias.

The cable networks MSNBC and CNBC are refusing to air advertisements calling for continued support of the Iraq war. The ads feature Iraqi war veterans and their families. Powerline reports the networks say they have a policy against running sponsored ads dealing with controversial public issues.

But the president of the group that produced the ads says the networks have aired similar items in the past dealing with issues such as the Darfur genocide and health care for the uninsured. No response yet from those networks.

Not aware of this but, wouldn't you agree that this would allow those who don't support war to call for equal time? Then of course you further escalate the division instead of remaining neutral.

Frankly, running the ads shows bias.

To equate the genocide in Darfur to the war in Iraq from a political view seems to be a stretch to me. How many people are supportive of the genocide in Darfur? [I'm almost afraid to ask that here...]

Who made and financed these ads?

Watch FOX for fair & balanced. Just kidding. Heck they give about 8 minutes a day for Iraq. Of course it's some liberal watch group that said that. But I guess if you have a stop watch it's easy to check. Or was it FOX won't show complete story of whats going on there. Fox keeps painting a nice picture of this chit hole. The one we keep loosing good men for what. Save Iraq from who us. Or them self's. Fox keeps trying to make the W H story that Iran will take over. That's so much bull chit. Fair & Balanced just kidding.
By the way if you watch CNBC. You will see adds that are basic. You don't find many political. However because it's more Reb's slanted. You here Dem's take in the ass on at least a 65%/35%split. This station is no friend of Dem's.

No consititution probs now-right Edward

---don't know who made ads but saw them run on fox and only saw two so far a soilder with legs missing and mother of soilder killed.

Granted you could find those of both with opposite opinion but glad to see these networks show their true colors--if group is smart they will follow-up with ads about these networks banning their ads and and put the nail in the coffin on these already cellar dwelling ratings networks. They apparently didn't learn anything from airamerica and others.

Wondering two things...

Did Fox News air ads on the Darfur genocide and health care for the uninsured?

And, the ad with the soldier with no legs...was that the guy that George said would be up and running and could beat him in a race pretty soon?

Wayne:

The "war" as you call it (I prefer invasion) of Iraq. much like Viet Nam is a controversial issue. Would you like to see anti- "war" ads on tv?

As devisive as you are, I'm sure the answer is yes. Networks have the right to exclude controversial subjects from paid advertisers. Has nothing to do with 1st amendment. Same as hate speech or NAMBLA seeking to solicit on FOX (wouldn't that be something).

You like to confuse issues. You never apply reason. Its always extreme positions and black/white.
