Last week right-wing media have complained that BP was "persecuted" at a congressional hearing on the company's role in the Gulf oil spill and compared the hearing to a "Stalinist show trial," "Inca ritual slaughter," the Salem witch trials, the McCarthy hearings, and the Romans feeding Christians to lions.
Is that being a good patriot? No, they are quickly prepared remarks that follow a idiotic right-wing philosophy. No matter how many gaffes, quickly pile on the president, even when it's wrong.
As for Obama, start doing the right thing when mistakes are made within government. Try a novel idea which hasn't been used in years -- I made some mistakes, but we are going to clean house and fix the problems. No one is ever accountable when people should be fired.
