Let's try to nail the early game together!

I'm leaning toward Fairfield because the Stags held the Purple Eagles to 59 points (23 points below their season average) in the first meeting at Niagara. In situations like this one, I normally favor the better defensive team.

Any thoughts guys?

I show Fairfield able to give up to 4. The only worry I have is that Fairfield should be giving at least 2.

I like Niagara in this spot too, in last match-up, Fairfield played a half-court D which totally frustrated the Purple Eagles O: Niagara was just 7-19 from the field in the 2H including only one basket in final 9 minutes. And Fairfield ran down the 35-second clock on every sequence. In two games prior to that, Niagara scored 97 and 87; in one game since they scored 87...with a Total of 145 Vegas is expecting an uptempo game and I agree.

Niagara will beat the halfcourt game this go-round and Fairfield will get left in the dust.

gsp,

I think you might see Fairfield (-2) prior to tipoff. The line is currently Fairfield (-1), and some early consensus reports show significant action on Fairfield. The line moves should tell us which side to play today.

i don't think anyone expected fairfield to regroup as well as they have after the loss of both todd & gai...bell, thomson et al have stepped up nicely but that surprise is old news & niagara should be ready for the stags tonite...eagles have far superior firepower (82.5 ppg) & a strong tandem w/ mendez & darden...reaves can board, darden can break open the stags' zone w/ his treys & mendez does everything else...stags will really miss gai underneath tonite, & as good as their defense has been i see them being outgunned decisively here, think the eagles can win this by 8-10...Niagara pk 3*...gl, caper

edit: heads up, 4 pm est tipoff

For what it's worth, let's not forget the Stags are coming off a saturday loss at home to Canisius as a 12 point favorite.

At one popular site, 6 of the top 10 documented college hoops handicappers are playing Niagara today! Nobody in the top 10 is playing Fairfield. Something to think about.

dont want to turn any heads, but alot of u may know about my systems. and i use a pretty good sytem in colege just like the nba. actually my college system is alot like system #2

heres the key, it seems like when i get these games where the line is +1 or -1 it is very strong. on saturday this situation came up 3 times for me

syracuse +1.............blow-out city
ball state +1..............winner by i think 7
niagra +1...................winner by 9 i believe

no im not saying to bet every game where the dog is +1. but when my system comes into play w/ +1 or -1 it seems to be a very strong play

gl on ur plays tonite fellows, dont make me sway u in 1 way or another. just a little info

Fairfield (+1)
1*

After thinking long and hard about this game, I've decided to play Fairfield. In my opinion, the line move to Niagara (-1) is a deliberate attempt by the books to attract more money on the Purple Eagles. Niagara is coming off a 14 point win at St. Peter's, while Fairfield is coming off a four point home loss to Canisius. Niagara is the sexy play based on these results. I usually like to bet against the obvious. Thanks for the feedback today fellas.

Good luck!
;)

Late move on Fairfield! Line was up to Niagara (-1') at my book, now it's back to a pick.

After first five minutes, Niagara's starters look like they came to play...Stags not playing the half-court D they played in their first match-up.
