Thursday night game

Falcons will need to show a lot more offensive ability in this game to be taken seriously as a playoff type team.

Julio Jones WR will play so that should be a plus.

Matt Ryan may play into the second qtr and we will see how he fairs against the strength of the Ravens defense.

Steve Jackson better run for at least 50 yds this game. Damn he is looking like the Burner Turner.
Jackson was supposed to be a upgrade.

Falcons defense will also have a test with the two rookie corners.

I got a feeling that the Ravens run game is going to be too much for the Falcons to handle.

Getting closer to the real deal now.

I don't bet on pre-season NFL games.

Pre-season is a time for watching and learning
so when the regular season starts you know what a team can do with the basics.

I usually wait at least until the second game to wager on any NFL

Sure are some college games I am interested in early though.

time to study things.

I have to give the Falcons a B + for the first half as they trashed the Ravens vaunted defense.

And is sure looks like Matt Ryan is worth more money than the Flacco dude.

Running back Jackson surged some in his second game but still goes down too easy in my opinion.

Falcons need to sit Jaquizz Rogers on the bench and put in Vaughn right now.

Julio is the best player on the team.

Falcons defense hung in there but giving up the two long balls and the two special teams TDs was just pitifull.

You should always win games like that even in pre-season.

New player Worrell making tackles in bunchs . He is a guy to watch.

Roddy White goes down with a high ankle sprain. I don't like the dude anyway. Keep Cone in there and trade White while they can get something for him.

See the Burner Turner who they hung on to while he was eating cheeseburgers in the huddle.

Training camp came to an end for the Redskins on Friday, and from beginning to end it was dominated by Griffin's return from major knee surgery. The enormously popular quarterback and reigning NFL offensive rookie of the year moved well despite the brace on his right knee, whether he was rolling right on a bootleg or sprinting 100-plus yards along the rope barriers to slap hands with fans after practice.

It was a remarkable sight, considering that his surgery was seven month ago for an injury that often takes more than a year to completely heal. Still, he felt he should have been doing more than he was allowed under Shanahan's practice plan and wasn't shy about saying it publicly. On Monday, Griffin escalated the saga by saying he didn't like the plan and didn't fully understand it. The backlash was such that he made a special statement the next day to announce there was "no conflict" between him and the coach.

On Wednesday, Griffin took his first 11-on-11 snaps of camp, albeit against a scout team defense. Shanahan has vetoed Griffin's desire to play in a preseason game, preferring instead to focus on the Week 1 regular season opener Sept. 9.

"He's doing well right now. He is ahead of schedule. ... We've had no setbacks so far," said Allen, knocking his fist superstitiously three times on the wooden podium. "And the goal is for him to play in Week 1. Don't know if it'll happen."

Other highlights from Allen's state-of-camp news conference:

-- Allen made it sound as if a contract extension for Shanahan isn't imminent. Shanahan is entering the fourth year of a five-year deal. His future could hinge on whether his relationship with Griffin turns into a full-blown rift.

"This isn't the time that we'd be talking about the head coach or any of that stuff," Allen said. "Mike is really focused on this season."

this kid looks like one of the best tacklers the Falcons have had in a long time.

Preseason stats are proving him out.

Falcons Vs Titans

The so called dress rehersal game tonight for the Falcons.

Ryan and first string should play into the third quarter and really try to win.

Tony Gonzalez is back from his two week stay with his kids for the HOF tight end. Big whoop. I doubt he will have as good a year as last year, but he is about the only receiver that will catch the ball in traffic.

Titans have made it clear they are going to run.

So big test to see if the Falcons can stop a very good run game from the Titans. Could that Ravens game been a fluke and they stopped a team that really didn't want to put out in pre-season.

Cuts down to 73 next week so some of the players on the edge will have to play and get on tape.

The last pre-season game is usually not serious and they just look at the rooks mostly.

So lets see what the Falcons have got overall and see if they can at least win this game and make a good showing.

Michael Irvin says the Eagles QB takes too many unneeded hits.

Never one to mince words during his playing days or his current time as an analyst, Hall of Famer Michael Irvin has a simple message for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.

While at the NFL Network?s launch party on Wednesday, Irvin was discussing Vick?s inability to stay healthy and his lack of understanding of when to slide.

?Somebody?s got to say that (to him) ? you can?t do that. It?s stupid,? he said, according to The Sporting News. ?You cannot be this stupid. You cannot be this dumb. It?s impossible. Your (butt) has been hurt every year. Stop putting your body on the line like that.??

Oh wait, there?s more.

?It?s mind boggling. Mind boggling, mind boggling, mind boggling. I mean, I?m watching the game (last week against Carolina) ? he took a hit in the preseason, and he almost didn?t get up. I said, 'Oh my God.' Down on the goal line, he almost did not get up, on that play down on the goal line. Are you (kidding) me??

Well, we decided to go to the video tape and . . . yes, Vick, who started 10 games last year and 13 in 2011, has been throttled in his career.

Granted, most of those hits came inside the pocket, but if anything, that just bolsters Irvin?s point that when he scrambles he needs to get down and get down fast.
.......................................................................

he is that stupid x 2

I give Vick less than 6 games and Foley will be the QB

So much for winning the game and the big dress rehearsal for the Falcons.

Geez where do I start.

The really big problem the Falcons have is the same as last year. They can move the ball up and down the field at will at times. But when they get into the red zone they stagnate and here comes the field goal kicker time after time. Getting 3 pts instead of 7 puts the Falcons in catch up as soon as the other team scores a few touchdowns. This is a bad omen and has not changed from last year.

Ryan has some kind of a mental block when he gets close to the end zone. Granted Roddy White was not playing but damn Locker and Fitzy had no problems getting the ball into the end zone when they had to.

Julio Jones is a beast but his hands and dropping balls have always been a issue with him even at Alabama.

Tony G made his way back in and caught a few passes over the middle for 20 yds total. wow
Supposedly Gonzalez came back to go to a Super Bowl. I wouldn't be surprised if he costs the Falcons a Super Bowl bid in the end.

The better defenses in the league are going to shut the Falcons down hard. Run game can be stuffed too easy. I don't think the Falcons will answer.

Steven Jackson ran better this week and showed some of his pass catching ability as well as bull rushs. He still aint the answer as far as I am concerned. Jaquizz Rogers, just gets stumped and knocked around. Give me the rookie Vaughn to take his place immediately. And Rogers helmet never looks like it fits right. A high dome or something.

The second huge issue for the Falcons is they got Osimoryi from the Giants to rush the passer. He has not done shit. Locker and Fitzy mostly were untouched in passing situations. Bierman got one sack on Locker that was not really what we are looking for.
Huge problem for Falcons against the elite pick em apart QBs in the league. No pass rush and rookies in the corners  Asanti Samual went out like a bitch with a thigh injury. Lets face it he didn't want to play and take hits, and wanted to ride the bike in practice next week watching .

Defense - Overall just not good enough. Too many running plays and QB getting too many yards when nothing was open. Alford rookie made some good plays but he was also torched over and over.

Does it bother anyone that football has changed and we do not see ANY run backs on kick offs ? Fuck just give them the ball on the 20 yard line to start and stop wasting our time with kicks into the end zone not returned. Its pathetic.

I was lmao when Thomas Diemtroff was in the booth at the start of the third qtr.Every call was a fuck up play and they were interjecting it into the conversation. TD was hipping and hopping . It was embarrassing.

Last pre season game is for looking at final player cuts. No more first string players.

New Orleans coming up and Drew Brees should pick this Falcons defense apart in their stadium. The only thing is that New Orleans has no defense to speak of. Game is a toss up.

Falcons Grade D +

The Houston DE is completely focused on getting better on the field

JJ Watt is really focused. I mean, really, really focused.

The Texans star spoke to CBSSports.com about his obsession with the game. He approaches his job with a laser-like focus, which doesn?t allow time for anything else.

Girls? Popping some bubb in the club? Watt doesn?t have time for that. At all.

?I know that I have probably an eight- to 10-year window in this league, and if I want to be what I say I want to be, then I have to commit myself 100 percent,? Watt said. That?s why I don?t have a girlfriend, because I give my life to this game and I want to be the best in this game, and I know it takes an unbelievable commitment.?

So girls are a distraction. Check. Are hearts breaking all over the Lone Star State? Maybe, but Watt doesn?t care. Girls don?t fit into his schedule.

?Every single part of my life is calculated. Everything. I?m sure part of it is unhealthy, because my personal relationships suffer, I don?t have much of a social life. I literally dedicate my life to this game, and you?re not going to find me out, you?re not going to find me at the bar, you?re not going to find me outside my house very often, because if I?m not at the stadium I?m recovering, I?m eating, I?m doing some recovery for my legs, I?m getting my body ready.?

....................................................................

I will need to check with Biggaycapper and Imfehker but I would say the guy is completely gay and looking for a reason why he is never with woman.
