My initial thoughts on this game is that you cannot believe the
bad press the Falcons are getting here in Atlanta. I mean some die hard Falcons fans are talking about getting rid of Mora and Knapp,
not to mention a uprising against our beloved QB Mike Vick.

I am sure that Tampa has gone through the same thing when they got hammered by New England. Not sure if its like here though.

I have many reasons to make this play.

This is a playoff game to the Falcons. The crowd will not have a effect. This is just going to be throw down football. And the Bucs are ripe for the picking. They got to be looking at why they played so bad in NE. I hope their ready.

When this play is over,

I will meet you on Glory Rd, it runs right off of Victory Lane , and that is where I live.

Here are some things that I am thinking about.

Its warm in Tampa. That always evens the playing field.

Tampa also looked bad vs NE who the Falcons played close albeit awhile ago.

Tampa may end up trading in a Cadillac for a Ford Escort after that 28 yard performance.

Vick and the Falcons played Tampa close in Atlanta and Tampa only won on a last second field goal.

The Falcons passing game is scheduled to wake up. Crumpler made a big stink to the team in the papers, so he should really step up in this game.

Vick has a tremendous ego. Falcons were embarressed in Chicago. He has played well in Tampa at times. Last year not so good.

Game should be close. I think Falcons pull it out but still wont make the playoffs.

I think you're concentrating too much on that one game last week where TB came out flat. Well, Atlanta has been much more flat than TB has been lately and their defense does own Vick. Good luck with this one you'll need it. I am not betting the game :nooo: :nooo: but if I were I'd take Tampa.

On a different note, congrats on your big play last week!! Awesome pick. Happy Holidays and here's to a great 2006 :mj14: :mj14: !!

I like it! Currently, the public is all over Tampa Bay. Also, Vick has a habit of playing really well after a bad game. I think Atlanta wins this one straight up. Good luck Scott!

If you can wait until Saturday about 4 PM,
you may have to eat them words in a turkey
sandwhich. Vick is going to step up and prove he
is a Pro Bowler in this game. We dont see Chris Simms name going to the Pro Bowl. If Simms plays better than Vick, Vick will be seriously hurting about it.

I pity Tampa Bay. Just bad timing, having Vick embarressed at Chicago and everyone in Atlanta on him hard. He will show them a thing or two about playing in the NFL. And he can do it too, with his arm and legs. If he plays smart.

I like Vick when he is mad.

If I can find the emotion in a team, then I win.

It seems simple enough.

Falcons come Saturday morning will be up early eating their wheaties. They will be ready.

Bucs beware of the train that is coming down the tracks.

weakness in the Tampa Bay defense. I seen it when they played NE. Geezz man better shore that up because here comes Dunn.

You remember Dunn , the guy Bucs traded to the Falcons, like a push to the curb.

Yeh that Dunn. Payback time for Tampa.

And if the Falcons run Duckett like they should and he dont fumble. things might get ugly.

I would run Duckett every other play until they cry .......give up a touchdown !

I hate it when its this easy.

SIMMS SORE

Simms sprained his left thumb during the first half of the loss but managed to take all of the team's snaps under center and is expected to be fine for this Saturday's showdown with rival Atlanta.

Gruden hopes his young quarterback will have more time to throw the ball than he did against New England, as Simms and the Bucs have been far more successful when he hasn't been under heavy duress. Simms is 4-4 in his eight starts since replacing the injured Brian Griese. He has been sacked just twice in those four wins and a whopping 22 times in the four defeats.

Two other offensive starters suffered injuries against the Patriots. Right tackle Kenyatta Walker sprained his right knee and tight end Anthony Becht has a right ankle sprain. Both could possibly miss the Atlanta game.

One player likely out for Saturday is defensive tackle Anthony McFarland, who hasn't fully recovered from straining his hamstring early in Tampa Bay's Week 14 victory over Atlanta. McFarland was replaced by Ellis Wyms against New England.

MAJOR MISTAKES

The Buccaneers didn't help what was already an uphill cause when they committed eight penalties for 58 yards versus the Patriots. The most crucial one came during the second quarter, with New England holding a 7-0 lead but ready to punt the ball back to Tampa Bay.

Bucs linebacker Ryan Nece was called for roughing Pats punter Josh Miller, giving New England a first down in Tampa territory. The Patriots would cash in on the second chance, with a short scoring run by Corey Dillon ending the drive and making it a two-touchdown game.

"It was big," said Gruden of Nece's infraction. "You know it was 7-0 at that time."

Tampa Bay also had an 81-yard touchdown from punt returner Mark Jones wiped out in the third quarter because of a holding penalty on defensive back Kalvin Pearson............NFL scoreboards

Seriously the Falcons can play some dirty ball.

As your rushing Simms, grab his left thumb and twist it off his hand.

Then the other guy dive in and give one of them rolling thrunder blocks. I wouldnt put it past them to win this game.

Hey whatever it takes to win the game for the Falcons.

Who is Simms back up nowadays anyways ?

I thought Griese was still hurt.

He may should be on active alert list and bring his helmet and prepare to play.

Scott,

I don't deny that the Falcons will come out ready for this game, but I really think you are underestimating the Bucs. You keep talking about the Falcons and Vick getting embarrassed. Were they??? Or did they just get beat by a better team? 16-3 isn't exactly a massacre. And, in my opinion, Chicago's D did exactly what most people on this board expected them to do. Vick had a poor game partly because of Chicago's D, but also partly due to the fact that he's not a very good QB.

The team who REALLY got embarrassed last week, in my opinion, was Tampa. They had the #2 D going into last week's game and got manhandled by the Pats. You don't think they will come ready to play against the Falcons after that showing? Or how about Tampa's O getting embarrassed? They got SHUTOUT on national TV. You're right, their running game was pathetic last week. I have to think they also have something to prove, and luckily this week they get the Falcons who can't stop the run.

As for Tampa stopping the run, you're right. They probably won't be able to shut down Atlanta's running game. But there is a good chance McFarland will play this week after missing the last two games. He is a HUGE reason why they have such a good run defense.

I'm sure you know a helluva lot more about the Falcons than I do. I don't doubt that for a second. And if the Dirty Birds win I'll tip my cap and admit I was wrong about this one. Hell, I've been wrong many times before and will be wrong many times in the future. I guess I just don't see why you love Atlanta so much in this one?

Well I'm guessing you like them because you see this as a bounceback game for them? At least that's what it looks like in your posts. I'm probably one of the biggest situational players on this site, and I play a lot of bounceback games too (Chi and SD last week are good examples). I was just trying to point out that this is as big a bounceback game for TB as it is for Atlanta. I didn't mean to sound critical, was just confused why Atlanta looks so easy to you. Especially considering how well they do historically against both Vick and the Falcons.

Glenn

I dont believe in bounce back.

The key is right there, you said it.

Always go against history when sports wagering. The only thing the public players know about football is history. So they use it to make wagers.

Get my drift glen?

Its all we need to know about this play.
