Seems like this line is too low. 81% on G-Men. Falcons at home on Monday night.

Seems like a suckers bet to take G-Men. Falcons or nothing.

I'm taking Atlanta +4'
May take a small play on ML...

Very true. I don't just jump all over a game b/c public is on one side. Like I say, for me the play is Falcons or nothing.

Falcons have been within 7 pts in every game other than week 1. Only played 2 games at home and they won one of them. Giants have improved a lot. Still, they were dominated by the Skins in 1st half of that game and had to come back on hapless Jets.

I see a relatively low scoring game and like having the pts at home...

Also, I thought the line should be 6 at the least so it looks just a little funny combined with the fact that the public is all over the Giants.

Just seems like the line was set for NY action and thats exactly what they got.

I won't play the ML but taking ATL +4 1/2

sometimes the 81% is where your supposed to be.

remember one thing. The Falcons suck.

Well, then how come the line is 4.5? If they do suck so bad, should the Giants not be favored by a touchdown?

IMO, Hall will give Buress all he can handle. Coleman comes back tonight adding to a pretty stout run defense....Who says the Giants are that good? Jacobs and Ward are power runners in between tackles and that is where Atlanta can stop backs...

In last nights game, everyone thought the Saints sucked...Something about prime time games that brings out the best in teams...I think.

I agree the play it Atlanta or nothing.

Thanks Morris. I have had a really good couple weeks and almost back to even for the year.

Been trying to take a different, hopefully better approach to capping games. Trying to take my own feel for what should happen but putting more emphasis as to what I think the line should be and what it really is and then trying to figure out why.

Then seeing where the public is, especially when the line looks fishy to me and also see if there is or isn't line movement.

All I can say is that I'm doing better but it could just be coincidence.

Also, I think theres a lot better chance of a backdoor cover for the Falcons than the G-Men running away with it.

Morris, I've also gotten WAY better at money management. I'll play the occasional teaser and I like to play a couple parlays, esp in college. But I'm getting good at putting 1-2 units on every game no matter how good something looks.

TD, I started looking at games a little closer this season also. Also using alot more discipline and playing less games. GL

Yeah, I think the biggest thing for me lately is just putting the emphasis on trying to figure what Vegas wants the public to do on certain games.

For so long I always thought the books wanted 50/50 action but I realize that on some games, they definitely use what they know combined with that they know how the public will react to certain lines.

And also realizing what I already knew...that I don't have to win every game, just a little bit more than half, to win money. What a concept...

I'm not in it to break the bank just up on my local. He said yesterday that he only had 2 people on the plus side. Me and another guy, he wasn't happy when I doubled up on NE yesterday!

I know a guy that bet 29 games and totals on Sat. He pays every year!

I used to bet alot of games but a few now and I seem to have more winners and just as much fun. Another thing I do is look at the line and say why are they only favored by say 3, they're going to get blown out. Then I say it's 3 for a reason and take the points and alot of the time I win.

Yeah...the books aren't predicting the game. They are predicting the public's reaction to the line compared to what they feel like is actually going to happen.

Also, I feel like being a huge fan of sports my whole life, playing a lot of football, and having a dad who was a football coach that I know more than the average fan but obviously less than Vegas. I'm sure a lot of people here feel that same way.

So sometimes its a challenge to realize exactly what most of the "public" does know and then use that info.

We may know that Harbaugh against Carroll is a better matchup b/c they both have that NFL connection, but is that something Joe Public is going to put into their equation.

Not the best example....

Lately my favorite is when the public is big on one side and the line moves the wrong way, encouraging more betting on the same side. That seems to be a huge giveaway on what vegas wants...

GL w/ Falcons play - i've seen this line rise from +3.5 and have an out where i grabbed it at +5.5 - love games like this - TouchdownJesus your opening comment was exactly what i am seeing - actually more in the 85% range on G-men - i've tried preaching the value of the home dogs to the forum - on MNF this goes double - i made a nice haul on the MNF game last week - people get so caught up in thinking teams are so much better than the others - but fail to look at the trap situation they usally fall into.

Now sure Falcons could get blown out tonight - if it happens it's just one loss over the long haul - but i love the Falcons in this spot. All i keep hearing is about Harrington, new tackles, Giants D-line going to dominate - blah blah...this game reminds me so much of yesterday's Cincy/KC game - 80%+ backed Cincy as the short 3 pt road dog. I loved KC in this spot - easy play & winner. All week that Cincy line stayed at -3 even though it was pounded heavily. That game was basically Vegas saying go ahead and take Cincy, the books will back KC all day long. The game tonight i look as very similar to this. Line now is rising because G-men is the "obvious" and "easy" play.

The thing is it's hard for teams to win on the road in a tough MNF atmosphere - i'm sure Atlanta will be rocking tonight. Everyone expects them to be blown out - like last week nobody seemed to give Bills a chance and they almost won outright. Gmen also have been shaky at times - now public sees them as this great team after 3 straight good performances. I think this game will be closer than most anticipate. I've been on the right side of so many games like this one. I'll back the home underdog Falcons in this contest.

Alot of people don't agree w/ my theories but i keep picking good spots w/ underdogs and keep winning week in and out. Good luck tonight - hope Atlanta cashes this one. If you keep taking the side on the games that look like the teams don't have a chance, good things happen. Do you think the sports books are sweating needing the Falcons to come through? No they aren't - because week in and out there are these games where 80%+ back favored teams vs. teams that have no business being in the game - yet at the end of the days, months, years - the books make out on these types of games. I always wait to play these games until near last minute because like in case of tonight's game line has risen from +3.5 to +5.5 in some places - who knows may hit +6...at the end of the year getting those extra .5, 1, 1.5, 2, or more points on games adds up to more winners...

I agree w/ you TDJesus - Gmen appear to be a big time sucker bet. For some reason i keep seing this as a 3 point game either way. Take Atlanta or pass on the game. GL 2 u.

^ Thanks, you too.

I agree the Falcons may get blown out. I'm not trying to win this game...I'm trying to win 6/10 of these games.

And to repeat my other thought on this game. That would be to simply not play it.

I can take the Falcons, I can't take the Giants. If this game was on Sunday, I might pass, but tonight its the only game in town so I'll play it.

Thanks for the replies, good luck.
