here is the deal....i had the philly def/special teams this weekend.....
the problem is when philly ran a fake punt for a td ....they dont want to give me the 12 pts for a special teams td because they say it was an offensive play.....i dont see how they can say that...the offense wasnt on the field..it was the punt team which is considered a "special team" right ??? please help me out here !!!!!

That's just a pass play or a run play, whatever the case may be.

When you fake a punt, its basically just like running an offensive play with an odd formation. You still need to put 7 guys on the line scrimmage.

You got a pro set, an I formation, shot-gun formation, wish-bone formation, a punt formation, and many more. You can do whatever you want from any of them.

On the other side of the coin, sometimes you'll see a guy punt from the shotgun on 3rd down and VERY LONG. That goes down as a punt.

agreed,

i can see where your coming from.. but that is a called Ofensive play..

not like running back a kick off..

just my 2cents:)

I completely disagree. When you talk about poor punting, coverage, etc, you say poor special teams. Period! BUT, the other 2 guys are right. It sucks for you, but it TECHNICALLY is an offensive play.

agree with everyone here as well. I got burned last year when your boy Seder ran in a fake field goal. I didn't get the points. It came up again this week and the other team was not rewarded.
