Fantasy Football Trade Issue

Hi Everyone

I was hoping to get some opinions and some advice on a trade issue that has come up in a fantasy football league.

First of all I think when the league was setup the trade deadline was setup incorrectly as it is set to December 18th which would allow trades during the playoffs which is unheard of. Most leagues have a trade deadline of week 8 or 9.

The bigger issue is that today, after 10 weeks of the season have been completed, a team that is tied for 1st place has made a trade with 2 of the bottom 3 teams that will not make the playoffs. In both of the trades the team that is tied for 1st receives the best player on the non playoff teams for 2 average players. I guess the argument is that the points matchup but how is it fair that 2 teams that will not make the playoffs trade away their best players (top 10 fantasy players) for 2 average players? Doesn't this seem that the team tied for 1st is pillaging from the 2 teams that will not make the playoffs? The team tied for 1st making the trades is also the commissioner of the league.

cry me a river. I tied you for first after starting 1-2. I've made several trades and moves all year. The numbers match up. Teams make trades for the playoffs push every year. I made your several offers and you choose to ignore them so quit crying

No i haven't set it yet. I couldn't find where to set it when i set up the scoring but it's always the same time. Tuesday at midnight of week 12. We play 13 weeks. The trade deadline is set the same for everyone and is a moot point. The point is that you win in fantasy by scoring more points on your team than the next. The guy i traded is getting more points with the two players he received than the one he traded. If you win by scoring points and they are close what is the problem?

But in answer to your question uga the trade deadline isn't late imo. Theres still 3 weeks in the season. What I'm but digging at all is anyone going on public forums and naking insinuations of me cheating and using the commissioner office to do it. For what? Because Jordan had lost his last two and now he's worried about being caught. Most ridiculous shit ever. Every year teams trade for players from teams in order to improve their teams. I happened to draft well made a couple good pickups shit i still have Welker on my bench. Just sitting there.

Well as far as the deadline goes, it is up to each participant to know the rules so if it was known that the deadline would be at this time then there is nothing to be said there. Jordan is obviously upset because those teams are not going to make the playoffs(so he says) so why would it matter to them if they win or not? Not that I have to tell you this, but obviously if you have a deep bench you can make these types of trades and improve your team exponentially while also increasing the other guys points. I assume this is what he is upset about. It goes without saying I am not privy to your leagues rules, setup, records, etc so I could be talking out of my ass as well :0003

No you're correct. I have a deep bench yes. I still had to give up two of my starting receivers and one of my starting backs or flex player for two players. I now have a shorter bench but stronger starter and flex player. That's how trades work.

And Team B is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs?
No he is not. Neither team is. One team is one game out of wildcard the other two with three games remaining. Team B would not have been able to field a team this week due to byes and injuries to his team.
I get that Jordan isn't happy, I'm never happy when my closest competitor gets better. He's competitive as well as I, and his team has hit a little bump after racing out to first place for the entire season I believe, and my team scored big last week and I've had a surge. I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with all this forum crap and also throwing in the insinuation of cheating by making a point of saying "he's the commissioner too" and bringing up the damn trade deadline when that has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Nobody has hit a trade deadline yet in a 13 week season, so why bring it up other than to muddy the issue. Why insinuate that the teams are out if it when they aren't? I just don't like it, thought it was kind of shitty.

The funny thing is that in our second league Jordan is eliminated and he just traded the Kelvin Benjamin and Mark Ingram to the team I'm fighting for a playoff spot with. I voted for it. The numbers were good enough.

I do commend his integrity in admitting that the numbers are even and fair, but just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't fair.

Hope this helps,
FDC

What else would you do with Wes Welker? I released him in other leagues, just saying. I can also say the team in question hasn't lost 2 in a row

Wes Welker should be on the bench if not waiver wires.

My $0.02 is it looks like the trades may be comparable in overall point values, but team A is definitely getting the better end of the stick by getting some top level talent and likely shedding some guys that weren't even starting.

pretty shady

I don't think it is shady the first trade would be approved in most leagues just because Forsett is a starting back who can put up good numbers and Keenan Allen has potential to put up big numbers.

Trade number 2, I am not so sure about, if I was a betting man, that trade would get thrown out of 95% leagues. Just a guess. Nobody I know is saying "i got to get Trey Mason and Torrey Smith!" "I know I will give up Arian Foster the leagues hottest back to get em."

What do you do? You offer a trade and a someone accepts. Maybe they don't care or give a shit. I always follow a strict policy. If I'm out I a am not trading my best players, but that's just me.
