FAU leading scorer Adonis Filer missed Saturday's game with concussion-like symptoms and his status for Thursday's game against UTSA remains uncertain.

FAU coach Michael Curry is hopeful that leading scorer Adonis Filer will be available for Thursday's game against Texas-San Antonio, but he doesn't expect to know for sure until later game day.

Filer. A redshirt junior, missed Saturday's loss to UAB because of concussion-like symptoms. FAU (6-18, 4-7) is currently following the concussion protocol with him.

?They're following it now and he's doing well ? didn't have any symptoms, I don't think, today,? Curry said on Monday evening.

Filer suffered the injury during the shoot around prior to Saturday's game when he spun into teammate Jeantal Cylla, hitting his head on Cylla's shoulder.

He's expected to undergo some cardio work on Tuesday, and if symptoms don't return Filer will continue to add more activity. Should Filer be concussion-symptom free on Thursday he could be cleared for that night's game.

The timing of the potential concussion is particularly worrisome for Filer because it would be his second in less than 12 months. Filer suffered a concussion in the spring of 2015 while working out with the Owls.

?It's more important for him to be healthy, to make sure he is right,? Curry said.

Curry would be the second FAU basketball player to suffer multiple concussions over the past year. Center Matt Reed hasn't played since Jan. 3 following his second concussion. The Owls still aren't sure that Reed would be able to return this season.

Without Filer, who averaged 10.0 points while starting the Owls' first 23 games of the season, Curry inserted Solomon Poole into the starting line-up against UAB. The senior responded with 10 points, two steals and four turnovers.

UTSA (4-20, 2-9) comes to Boca Raton with the worst record in Conference USA and one of those losses coming at the hands of FAU ? an 86-71 Owls' victory on Jan. 23.

Filer scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds in that game. The Roadrunners held Poole scoreless in 12 minutes.
