just some thought from around the net...
This is a really intriguing game on both sides in terms of scheme between Buffalo and CMU. The Bulls are going to allow three?s and control the glass and the focal point is size and defending the inside. They?ve allowed an average of 23 three-balls in conference play this year, and that?s important to note because CMU?s the type of offense that?s going to launch them all night. At home this year, CMU is currently 9-0. They?re averaging 92 points a game, and have posted an offensive efficiency of 1.31 which is absolutely absurd. Fortunately, there is a backstory. Those numbers come against three teams who aren?t a part of division I, and the other six teams defenses ranks are as follows: 346, 344, 261, 329, 283, and 195. Their first test against a top 100 defense on the season comes tonight. The other thing here, too, is that CMU?s interior defense is really bad. They basically have one legit defender down low in Meyer, and he?s often in foul trouble. Buffalo?s the type of team that loves to attack, loves to drive and get into the paint and originate their offense from that standpoint. Tonight, we find out whether CMU is a contender, or a pretender.
