Finally the NBA finals are here and Game one looks as though it will be a good one. The Magic upset some opponents to get here while it was assumed all along that Kobe Bryant and the Lakers would make a return trip to the Finals. All of the stars will be court side as the Magic travel to LA for game one.

The Magic have won in LA before and beat the Lakers twice this year. Magic fans got some good news as injured guard Jameer Nelson was cleared to play for the finals. Dwight Howard is the true leader of this team and he will have to go up against Andrew Bynum in this contest and that will be a much tougher opponent that Cleveland could offer. Orlando has been winning with defense and they have turned it on for the playoffs. The under is 8-1 after three consecutive overs and they tend to turn on the defense when playing a good offensive team. The under is 30-15 when the Magic play a team that averages 99 points or more per game.

The Lakers are ready to play in this game after losing last year. This year they have the pieces they were missing last year with Bynum back in the lineup and depth in the front court and experience in the backcourt. The Lakers may win this series but they have been bad against the spread in the finals so beware of backing LA right away before watching how the match ups pan out. The Lakers were 0-6 ATS in the Finals last year. My selection will be on the side in this game. I am going to make a play on the under.

UNDER 206

The Lakers are well rested just playing their second game in seven days and Bynum will be able to play well defensively against Howard. Phil Jackson preaches defense and Stan Van Gundy has guided the Magic as the best defense on the floor.

Los Angeles has ended on the low side in 29 of 43 as favorites of between 3 1/2 and 9 1/2 points. The Magic have dipped 'under' in 10 of 11 after scoring 100 points or more in three straight games. The Lakers are 25-14 under in playoff games and 26-13 under off a double digit road win.

The playoffs will be full of nerves to start the game and promote a low scoring the contest. In game one of the finals I will play the under 206.
