what r ur thoughts? for me, I see this game as uptempo throughout.
As far as the side goes, I'm undecided at this point, I can see it stretching out a bit in Lville's favor, but no play for me yet.

Louisville is known for its pressing in the backcourt, A well-played backcourt press forces the action, forcing the guards to handle the ball well, make good decisions and usually makes 3 or 4 of the offensive players help in handling the ball and bringing it upcourt.

When a team runs a press it creates 3 scenarios:

1) Press works, Mich panics and mishandles ball, Lville gets steals, and quick shots in a 2-on-1, 2-on-2 scenario (Siva and Smith are excellent defensively and offensively in these scenarios).
or....

2) Mich handles press, bringing ball safely into front court and goes into half court offense.
or....

3) Mich handles press, and if your tm is confident in their offensive abilities (and I believe Mich is very confident w/Burke, Hardaway and Stauskas), once the ball is successfully across halfcourt it can lead to (relatively) easy, quick shots for Mich in a transition-style 3 on 2 style scenario. Since Djeing will most likely be the last layer of defense, I see mich taking a lot of 3's and scoring.

I believe it will be either scenarion #1 or #3... BOTH OF WHICH LEAD TO SCORING POINTS!!

WHAT WORRIES ME....
is that some 65% are on the "over" 138, and it hasn't moved off of that...

I've put some on the over already, but would like to hear some input from u guys!

whatever U play ~ :toast:

Best O'Luck!!

of course I didn't add what can happen at the end of a ncaa game when there is a lead around 10 pts, the trailing tm starts fouling and both tms go to the line, throw in a few 3's and they can score 20 pts in last 2 mins....

some of you "under" players give me your rationale plz :)

A different scenario I cant get out of my head throughout day, Pitino calls dogs off early in hopes of making this a half court game and PROTECT fouls with Siva/Smith and then wait for second half to release the hounds. Tight or slow game early with nerves and feeling out process.

On the flip side, I agree with you with over, just giving another thought.

jr11,
certainly the other night vs Wichita, Lville struggled in 1st half and had to chase in 2nd half...
again, creating an uptempo scenario and LOTS of 2nd half pts.

If the first half is a struggle (nerves, 'feeling out', whatever), I still think these two tms are most likely to be comfortable pushing the pace, and running the 2nd half... and then there's the fouling/ft scenario of a lead gets over 6 pts in last few mins.

I think these teams have GREAT Guards!
Great guards LOVE to play uptempo, it is the MOST FUN way to play, not talking "street ball", but taking the first-good-shot type of game and running with the rebound.
Great guards trust in themselves (Coaches usually get nervous about things "getting out of control").

I also remember THUNDER saying the other night how the rims were "tight"... hopefully that can be remedied for tonight's game.

I just haven't heard of anyone saying I think Mich will slow it down, or anything like that. I can see the coaches letting these teams get it going, and if it starts to turn bad (for either team), calling timeout, settling down a bit... that type of thing.
These guards for both teams are good, and Michigan has some great shooters from 3.
