Hi everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well and ready for another long football season. Remember not to get carried away early and put too much action in play in any given session or play too many games at once - it's a long season and plenty of time to turn a profit here to end 2008. Manage that bankroll best you can - and play only your strongest of plays.
One tip I want to throw out there if you simply crave having tons of action or money on every "tv game" then treat those games as entertainment and throw minimal amounts on them. For example if your standard play is $100 - then play your standard amount on just a few of your strongest plays - and if you want to have a ton of action, make those plays really small - like $5 or $10. Alot of my friends who play the games have had this problem - especially early in the season. They have a $2,000 bankroll, so start out and smartly put only about 5% per game - about $100 per game. But so many of them have started out playing so many action games all for good amounts, and before 25% of the season is over, they go bust. Instead if you want the entertainment of playing 20 games on a college saturday, simply make very small bets on your "action games" - of course i recommend simply playing only your "BEST OF THE BEST" - maybe 1, 2, or 3 max games - all for your $100 amount or whatever your number currently is. I know some of my friends took my advice though - cut back on the major plays, and for their action games just put $5 or $10 on those "TV games" they just want a side to root for. It's cheap entertainment and they still put out their $100 bets on their best bet or two or three of the weekend. Sure beats having them have their entire $2K bankroll out on 20 games on one day...all it takes is one horrible saturday to lose a good portion of the bankroll...just a tip i wanted to throw out there.
Also, i do advocate increasing the amounts as the season goes on if you are having winning sessions - and decreasing your play amounts if in a losing streak - just try to weather the storm - it's a long season and plenty of time to turn a profit.
I've played very few plays thus far in 2007 and football has always been a sport I put the most time into - hope I can post plenty of winners for you this season. Don't worry - I'll find that Pitt +4600 moneyline gem again this year
! If I play something, I will post it.
I have one play for this week thus far and think it's a good time to lock it in now if you haven't already. Here it is - the first NCAA play of the year for me (hint - it's the team that thankfully lost to Pitt last year - allowing me to hit a tremendous $23,000 payday on one game - Pitt ML!):
WEST VIRGINIA MOUNTAINEERS -7 (-120 juice)
Risking $6,000 to win $5,000
This line is currently around -7.5 at most outlets - i bought the .5 point which I will do from time to time if it brings a key number into play. I don't want to lose anything if they win by 7 so I suggest you get this number down to a 7. I shopped around and couldn't find a 7 unless i bought i down for an extra 10%.
I have West Virginia winning this mathup against East Carolina in the margin range of 14-21 points. East Carolina as an +8.5 point dog beat Virginia Tech outright by 5 last week. This has created some "buzz" about East Carolina and believe the perception on this game is off. There is value in the Mountaineers line this weekend. Go ahead and play it! Line should be at a -10 minimum here. Of course upsets can and do happen (East Carolina showed that last week). My money says Pat White & company take it to East Carolina this weekend.
Play on West Virginia - really recommend buying it down to the "7" key number.
Good luck my friends! This is my favorite time of the year - wish you all the best throughout the year!
