I have been an avid lurker for a few years and have gleaned a great deal of useful information from the boards. I have decided to give as much as I take...for what it's worth. All my plays will be in units. I'm a $200 player, so 1 unit equals that amount. All the lines come from Scores and Odds.

Picks:

Miami -3 (2 units)
I am a native Bills fan, but think they are a mess. Miami is balanced and talented...and it's too warm for venue to be an issue.

Pittsburgh +1 (1 unit)
Solid 'D' and Dixon's athleticism will be just enough to keep it close. Pittsburgh will use home field and squeeze one out.

Arizona -3.5 (2 units)
Cardinals have too many weapons and the Rams not enough. Anderson seems more inspired than Leinart was and think he has a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. If he's not looking over his shoulder for the hook, I think he is solid when he's comfortable.

It's all one man's opinion -Best of luck to all.

The day games worked out...a mild sweat in most cases... but wins are wins.

Washington +4 (1 Unit)
More of a gut than anything and I always need to be convinced to before backing the Cowboys. I can't see this game being more than a field goal of separation either way.

Thanks, Mully and Carter. I'll take a good day any weekend. The football season is definitely a marathon and not a sprint.

Thanks fellas. I appreciate the welcome. Like I said -I've tailed many of you for a few years and profited from it.

Going to finish week 1 with one play tonight.

Baltimore +1 (1 Unit)
Hard Knocks actually provided a good look at the lack of depth for the Jets. I think they will have another good season, but it will take some time for some tier 2 players to make contributions. I think the immediate lack of outside targets will hurt the Jets tonight and I think Sanchez is still forming. It will come down to their ground game and I don't see them rolling through the Ravens D like they did to most others in last year's playoffs. At best I see their offense as efficient - at worst it is turnover prone.

The Ravens are going through some changes in key personnel as well, but there is no way the addition of a guy like Boldin is a step backwards or that it will take time for him to acclimate! Flacco is at least a decent manager and can spin it at times. I see some down field potential for the pair. At best the Ravens offense is explosive, and at worst efficient with Rice/McGahee and the ground game. With all other elements (defenses) being somewhat equal I think this is the difference tonight and I'm backing Baltimore.
