It was time to try a pizza. (kids are home for x-mas :00hour )
I found a pizza stone in the house(pampered chef) and I was going to use it. Then I learned they don't work well at high heat(breaks) Wife tells me don't touch my stone. :scared
Plan B - I buy an aluminium pizza pan.
We tried two kinds of crust
One was just a bag the had 3 thin crust ready to go about 14 in.
The other two crust we made from scratch(just add water and let is rise) I put a little corn meal on the pan to keep this crust from sticking
Made both the same way
1 cup pizza sauce
1 cup cheese (put in freezer for about 15 min before adding to the pie) it helps slow down the cooiking of the toppings so you get a nice crisp crust.
Toppings you name we had it. Just try to keep all the toppings under a 1 1/2 cups. Don't go over two cups. It keeps the pizza from getting soggy
I got the grill up to about 450 -500
I did not want a lot of smoke(wife does not like it) So I only used lump charcoal.. No soaked wood chunks today
I put the plate setter on(feet down) and then just put the grate on top of the plate setter.
I put the aluminium pizza pan on top of the grill
I cooked the pizza on for about 10 min. Until a nice crisp crust and the topping are done
The kids ate the first two before I got a bite :0074
