Fish tank question?

i was thinking about getting some saltwater fish for my 30 gallon tank. I was wondering if any of you guys have them and how is it to clean out and stuff?? I heard you have to clean them out every few weeks or so, but some people say just to get a $300 filter and that works wonders. any ideas and what kind of fish, plants, other equipment??

I have five aquariums in my home. I guess you could call it a hobby!!! Anyway, a 30 gallong is getting toward the "small" size for a saltwater aquarium. In fact, the larger the aquarium the easier it is to clean.
Also, I don't know if you are making a reef tank or just a fish tank, but if it is a fish tank, you are only looking at probably 5 or 6 fish (medium size). But then again, this may be what you want.
You can get some nice filters, but you don't anything big, due to the size of the aquarium. Let me know and I can give you some ideas of filters for that tank,. I would suggest a minimum 75 gallon, if you are really intersted in saltwater fish.
