Florida Democrat: Without Immigration Reform, Where Will We Get Our Landscapers and Maids?
Wow. All we can say is?just imagine if a Republican said this. Can you say the ?R-word??
Florida Democratic congressional candidate ? and 2010 Democrat candidate for Governor ? Alex Sink said immigration reform was important at a Tuesday debate because, without it, it would be difficult for employers to find people to clean hotel rooms and do landscaping.
?Immigration reform is important in our country,? she said. ?We have a lot of employers over on the beaches that rely upon workers and especially in this high-growth environment, where are you going to get people to work to clean our hotel rooms or do our landscaping? We don?t need to put those employers in a position of hiring undocumented and illegal workers.?
The reaction from the Twitterverse from swift and (appropriately) harsh?
You can hear the debate audience shift uncomfortably in bewilderment that Alex Sink would say such a racist comment.

Alex Sink: "Juanita?if I told you once I told you a hundred times. I don't like my bedsheets tucked in!!!!" @AlexSinkFlorida

Not surprisingly?the local media completely ignored the shocking comments, leading to further scorn?
Hey @TB_Times any chance you cover Alex Sink's racist comments about Hispanic Immigrants? Feeling you would if a R in front of her name

This isn?t the first time Sink has got into hot water over her statements during the race, reports Mediaite.
Earlier this year, she called a Congressional Budget Office report indicating that Obamacare would reduce workers? hours as being an ?exciting prospect? because people would have more choice about how they work.
Sink is running in a special election for Florida?s 13th congressional seat, which was vacated upon the death of Bill Young last year. She ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2010 against Rick Scott.
