The Fla Derby is race 11 on Gulfs great racing card today.Large field of 12 entries with 1-1a entry(equally good horses)the 8 Songandprayer(Winner of Fountain of Youth) and the 3 Outofthebox (runnerup to the 8 at FOY)getting most the action.There are some value horses in the field also.The 2 Radical Riley 20/1 beat Song&Prayer 48 days ago.
I figure if any 2 of 3 of favs hit the board, payoff will be mediocre at best,and would like to get a little cheese if fortunate to hit so will throw out the 1-1a and the 8 and opt for the 3 as key.
Will discount 1-1a on class of horses they have beat and the 8 hoping the FOY jinx will hit,plus this race is further than FOY and being a front runner could burn out with bad break.Opted for the 3 maining cause he ran well in FOY despite horrendous break from gate which Bailey was quoted as saying cost him 5 lengths and he only lost by 2 1/2.
Will wager $1 tri keying the 3 in 1st and 2nd with the 2,4,5,6. Cost $24
