Michael Frazier out vs. Ole Miss
Florida will be without leading scorer Michael Frazier II for at least Thursday's game against Ole Miss because of a badly sprained right ankle.
Michael Frazier II leads the Gators with 13.2 points per game this season.
Coach Billy Donovan ruled Frazier out Monday, saying the junior shooting guard is wearing a protective boot and won't practice this week.
"It looks like a high-ankle sprain right now," Donovan said. "It is really hard with these things because there is not a lot of swelling in a high-ankle sprain."
Donovan says Frazier could be out a couple weeks or just three days. He says the team will "see how he responds to treatment."
Frazier injured his foot in Saturday's loss to top-ranked Kentucky and missed much of the second half.
"We had to play the whole second half without him on Saturday," Donovan said. "I thought our guys competed well."
Frazier, who has started 19 of 23 games, leads the Gators (12-11, 5-5 SEC) in scoring (13.2 PPG), minutes played (701), 3-pointers (55) and free throw shooting (87.7 percent). He ranks second on the team in rebounds (105) and steals (31) and third in assists (36).
